How to arrive the best way at Roskilde Festival

Now you can plan your arrival at Roskilde Festival! Here you'll find a clear overview with practical information that is important to know before all the fun begins.

We open the doors to this year's festival on Saturday 29 June at 16:00, and whether you're traveling by foot, bike, train, bus, or car, we want to ensure you have a safe and responsible arrival at the campsite.

If you want to enter the site calmly a few hours before the opening and avoid the risk of standing in long queues, you have the opportunity once again this year to purchase Early Entry access to Camping East, Camping South, Camping West, Caravan North, and Caravan South. You can also buy an Early Entry ticket that includes a train ticket from Roskilde St. to Roskilde Festival Station in West or a bus ticket.

We open the sale of Early Entry tickets on Wednesday 8 May at 11:00.

On the map, you can also see the different Wristband Exchange zones, where you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband. Note that the Wristband Exchange zones have different opening hours. 

Which day will you arrive?

You plan to on Saturday 29 June and will be staying at Camping East.

Saturday is the opening day of Roskilde Festival 2024. This is your guide to getting smartly to the festival and into the right place. 

The entire Camping East area is once again one large area for Community Camping and Special Camping. There are several different Community Camping areas: Clean Out Loud, Dream City, Common Ground, Roskilde Road Trip, Leave No Trace, and Settle’n Share – along with a number of Special Camping areas like Rent Your Tent East, Get A Place East, Tenthouse, and Handi-camp. These areas are all pre-booked. 

Use Entrance East

If you are staying in Community Camping or Special Camping, you should use Entrance East, which opens on Saturday 29 June at 16:00.

Arrive by bus to Entrance East

From Roskilde Station, you can take a shuttle bus to Entrance East. You purchase your bus ticket on the bus. The price is 25 DKK. When you arrive at Entrance East, you will exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at the Wristband Exchange and can then access the camping area. 

Arrive by festival train to Entrance West

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. From there, you can walk through the campsite to your area in East. The train runs at approximately 20-/40-minute intervals. The train journey takes a few minutes, and you purchase the ticket on the platform at Roskilde Station. The train ticket costs 25 DKK. 

Note: You cannot take the train to Roskilde Festival Station (Camping West) before Saturday 29 June at 16:00 unless you have purchased an Early Entry – Entrance Train Station ticket

Arrive by private transport, get dropped off, and get a wristband

We advise you to use one of the many public transport options. If you arrive by private transport, you should drive to Drop-off Zone East on Øde-Hastrupvej. From there, you walk to Entrance East. When you arrive at Entrance East, you will exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at the Wristband Exchange and can then access the camping area. 

If you need to park your own car, we have parking spaces at Øde-Hastrupvej in the Park N’ Pay East zone, alternatively at Vor Frue Hovedgade in the Park N’ Pay South zone. You pay to park. We encourage you to pre-book your parking if you want to ensure finding a parking space. You can book a parking space through our web shop now

If you drive a GreenMobility car, you can park at our special GreenMobility parking spaces in Park N’ Pay Far West and north of Entrance North. 


Use Entrance South

To get to your area in East, you can also use Entrance South. You can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at the Wristband Exchange at Entrance South.

However, the Wristband Exchange at Entrance South closes on Saturday 29 June at 22:00, so if you arrive after this and need to exchange your ticket for a festival wristband, you should instead use Entrance East.


Early Entry for the extra eagerly

If you want to be one of the first to set foot on the camping area and avoid potentially long queues at the official opening, you can book Early Entry access to East and schedule your arrival for a specific time slot in half-hour intervals between 10:00 and 15:30 (read more about Early Entry access here).

Early Entry – Festival train from Roskilde St. to Camping West

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. The train runs at approximately 20-/40-minute intervals from Saturday 29 June at 09:42 with arrival a few minutes later. 

Early Entry train departures require the special ticket Early Entry – Entrance Train Station. The ticket costs 75 DKK and can be purchased in our shop from 8 May at 11:00. You choose a train departure when you order your Early Entry ticket. 

Early Entry – Entrance East

You can book Early Entry access through Entrance East. This option is for those walking from Roskilde Station, arriving by bicycle, taking a shuttle bus to Entrance East, or arriving by car. 

You can purchase an Early Entry ticket in our shop from 8 May at 11:00. The ticket costs 50 DKK. 

Early Entry – bus from Hillerød St. to Entrance East

You can also get Early Entry with a direct bus from Hillerød St. and arrival at Entrance East. Here you can go straight into the queue system. The bus journey takes about an hour*, and you can choose from the following six departures on Saturday 29 June:

At 08:30, at 10:00, at 11:00, at 12:00, at 14:00, and at 15:00. 

The price for the bus journey including Early Entry access is 105 DKK. 

You can purchase a ticket via our shop from 8 May at 11:00. 

*We reserve the right for traffic delays and therefore cannot guarantee that the buses departing at 14:00 and 15:00 will arrive before 16:00. 

Note: If you have booked an area via Get A Place or Get A Silent Spot, these are reserved until Sunday 30 June at 16:00. After that, they may be used by anyone respecting the rules that apply to the chosen area. If in doubt, contact the nearest tower or information at the campsite. 

If you have purchased one of the following Special Camping products, your reservation does not expire: Rent Your Tent, Tenthouse, Caravan, MC Camping, and Sleep-in Buses

The footbridge between Camping East and Camping West is open from Saturday 29 June at 10:00. 

You can cross the footbridge if you want to use your Early Entry access in Camping East to find a regular spot in Camping West.

You plan to arrive on Saturday 29 June and will be staying at Camping West.

Camping West is our area for regular tent camping. Below, you can read about your options for arriving at Camping West. 

Arrive by festival train

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. The train runs at approximately 20-/40-minute intervals. The train journey takes a few minutes, and you purchase the ticket on the platform at Roskilde Station. The train ticket costs 25 DKK. 

When you arrive by train at Camping West, you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband and then access the campsite. 

Note: You cannot take the train to Roskilde Festival Station (Camping West) before Saturday 29 June at 16:00 unless you have purchased an Early Entry – Entrance Train Station ticket.

Walk or cycle from Roskilde Station to Maglegårdsvej

From Saturday 29 June at 16:00, you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at Check-In on Maglegårdsvej 14 and then continue through our Entrance North via Darupvej to Camping West. 

If you arrive by bike, you can find bicycle parking at Entrance West or Entrance North.

Arrive by private transport and get dropped off

We encourage you to use one of the many public transport options. If you arrive by private transport, you should drive to Drop-off Zone West on Darupvej. From there, you walk to Entrance West, where you will receive your festival wristband. 

If you need to park your own car, we have parking spaces in the same area. You pay to park. We encourage you to pre-book your parking if you want to ensure finding a parking space. You can book a parking space through our shop now. 

In collaboration with GreenMobility, we have designated parking spaces for their environmentally friendly shared cars in our parking lots in Drop-off Zone Park N’ Pay Far West and north of Entrance North.

Early Entry access for the extra eagerly

With an Early Entry ticket, you have the opportunity to enter the camping area earlier. You can read more about how to secure an Early Entry ticket here. With an Early Entry ticket, you can arrive at Camping West in the following two ways: 

Early Entry – Arrive by train

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. The train runs at approximately 20-/40-minute intervals from Saturday 29 June at 09:42 with arrival a few minutes later. 

Early Entry train departures require the special ticket: Early Entry – Entrance Train Station. The ticket costs 75 DK and can be purchased in our shop from 8 May at 11:00. You choose a train departure when you order your Early Entry ticket. 

After the festival opening at 16:00, you can purchase tickets for the regular departures with the festival train at Roskilde Station.

Early Entry – Entrance West

You can also achieve Early Entry at Entrance West, and this option primarily applies to you if you walk from Roskilde Station, arrive by bike, or arrive by car. 

You book your Early Entry ticket in our shop from Wednesday 8 May at 11:00. The ticket costs 50 DKK. 

After 16:00, there is normal access to Camping West. 

Note: If you are staying at Camping West, you should not take a shuttle bus to Roskilde Festival, as these only stop at Entrance East.

You plan to arrive on Saturday 29 June and stay in South.

This guide is for those who have booked one of the following camping areas: Get A Place South, Settle’n Share, or Get A Silent Spot. 

Note: Wristband Exchange at Entrance South is only open until 22:00 on Saturday 29 June. If you arrive at the camping area after Saturday 29 at 22:00 and need to exchange your ticket for a wristband, you must use Entrance East instead!

Arrive by shuttle bus to East

For the easiest way to get to Camping South, you can choose to take a shuttle bus from Roskilde Station to Entrance East. Shuttle buses run from Roskilde Station to Entrance East throughout the festival week. You purchase your ticket on the bus. The price is 25 DKK.

When you arrive by bus at Entrance East, you can walk to Entrance South along Vor Frue Hovedgade. At Wristband Exchange at Entrance South, you will receive your festival wristband.

Arrive by private transport and get dropped off

We encourage you to use one of the many public transport options. If you arrive by private transport, you should drive to Drop-off Zone East on Øde Hastrupvej. From there, walk to Entrance South, where you will exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at Wristband Exchange.

Parking at Park N’ Pay South

If you arrive by car, you have the option to park at Park N’ Pay South. From there, walk along Vor Frue Hovedgade to Entrance South, where you will exchange your ticket for a festival wristband.

You pay to park. We encourage you to pre-book your parking if you want to ensure finding a parking space. You can book a parking space through our shop now.

If you're driving a GreenMobility car, you can park in our special GreenMobility parking spaces at Park N’ Pay Far West or north of Entrance North. 


Early Entry for the extra eagerly

You can book your Early Entry access via our shop from 8 May at 11:00. The ticket costs 50 DKK.

You are staying at Camping East and planning to arrive between Sunday 30 June and Saturday 6 July.

During this period, most people have settled in, and we expect a smooth entrance to the festival. This is your guide to arriving smartly at the festival. 

Camping East is once again one large area for Community Camping and Special Camping. There are several Community Camping areas: Clean Out Loud, Dream City, Common Ground, Roskilde Road Trip, Leave No Trace, and Settle’n Share – along with several Special Camping areas like Rent Your Tent East, Get A Place East, Tenthouse, and Handi-camp. These areas are all pre-booked. 

Walk or cycle to Entrance East

To reach your camping area, you can use Entrance East.

You can choose to walk or cycle from Roskilde Station to Entrance East. There is bike parking at Entrance East. 

Arrive by bus to Entrance East

Shuttle buses run from Roskilde Station to Entrance East throughout the festival week. You buy your ticket on the bus. The price is 25 DKK. When you arrive by bus at Entrance East, you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband and then access the campsite.

Take the train directly to the campsite

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. From there, you can walk through the campsite to your spot in East. You can see all train departures here. You buy a ticket for the train on the platform at Roskilde Station. The train ticket costs 25 DKK. 

When you arrive by train at Entrance West, you exchange your ticket for a festival wristband and can then access the campsite. 

Arrive by car

We encourage you to use one of the many public transport options. If you arrive by car, you should drive to Drop-off Zone East on Øde-Hastrupvej. From there, walk to Entrance East, where you will receive your festival wristband at Wristband Exchange. If you already have your festival wristband, you can also use Entrance South. 

If you need to park your car, we have parking spaces at Øde-Hastrupvej in Park N’ Pay East zone, alternatively at Vor Frue Hovedgade in Park N’ Pay South zone. You pay to park. We encourage you to pre-book your parking if you want to ensure finding a parking space. You can book a parking space through our shop now. 

If you're driving a GreenMobility car, you can park in our special GreenMobility parking spaces at Park N’ Pay Far West or north of Entrance North.

Take shuttle bus between Høje-Taastrup Station and Entrance East

From Wednesday 3 July, shuttle buses run between Høje-Taastrup Station and Entrance East. The bus ticket costs 50 DKK and is purchased on the bus. The buses run between 09:30 and 00:00.

When you arrive at Entrance East, you can exchange your festival ticket for a wristband at Wristband Exchange.

Take shuttle bus between Køge Nord Station and Entrance East 

From Wednesday 3 July, shuttle buses run between Køge Nord Station and Entrance East. The bus ticket costs 50 DKK and is purchased on the bus. The buses run between 09:30 and 00:00.

When you arrive at Entrance East, you can exchange your festival ticket for a wristband at Wristband Exchange and then access the campsite from there. 

Note: If you have booked an area via Get A Place or Get A Silent Spot, these are reserved until Sunday 30 June at 16:00. After this time, they may be used by anyone respecting the rules for the chosen area. If in doubt, contact the nearest tower or information at the campsite.

If you have purchased any of the following Special Camping products, your reservation does not expire: Rent Your Tent, Tenthouse, Caravan, MC Camping, and Sleep-in Buses

You are staying at Camping West and planning to arrive between Sunday 30 June and Saturday 6 July. 

During this period, most people have settled in, and we expect a completely calm entrance to the festival. 

Camping West is our area for regular tent camping. Below, you can read about your various options for arriving at Camping West. 

Arrive by festival train

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. You can see all train departures here. The train journey costs 25 DKK and lasts only a few minutes. You buy a ticket for the train on the platform at Roskilde Station.

When you arrive by train at Camping West, you exchange your festival ticket for a wristband and can access the campsite from there.

Walk or cycle from Roskilde Station to Maglegårdsvej

From Saturday 29 June at 16:00, you can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Check-In on Maglegårdsvej 14 and then continue through Entrance North via Darupvej to Camping West.

You are staying at Camping South and planning to arrive after Saturday 29 June at 22:00.

This guide is for those of you who have booked one of the following camping areas: Get A Place South, Settle’n Share, or Get A Silent Spot. 

Note: Wristband Exchange at Entrance South closes on Saturday 29 June at 22:00. If you arrive after Saturday 29th at 22:00 and need to exchange your ticket for a festival wristband, you must therefore use Entrance East. Read below how to get to Entrance East.

Arrive by shuttle bus to East

Arrive by private transport and be dropped off

We recommend using one of the many public transport options. If you arrive by private transport, you should drive to Drop-off Zone East on Øde Hastrupvej. From there, walk to Entrance East, where you will receive your festival wristband at Wristband Exchange. 

If you drive a GreenMobility car, you can park at our special GreenMobility parking spaces in Park N’ Pay Far West or north of Entrance North.

You are staying at Rent Your Tent North and will arrive between Tuesday 2 July and Saturday 6 July.

The Rent Your Tent North camping area is centrally located north of the Orange Scene. This is a guide on how to easily find your way to the area. 

Rent Your Tent North opens on Tuesday 2 July at 12:00.

Walk or cycle from Roskilde Station to Entrance North

You can choose to walk or cycle from Roskilde Station along Maglegårdsvej towards Rent Your Tent North. You can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at Check-In at Maglegårdsvej 14, and from there, you can move further into the camping area. 

There is bicycle parking at Entrance North. 

Arrive by festival train

From Roskilde Station, you can take a train directly to the station at Roskilde Festival, located at Camping West. The train runs at approximately 20-40-minute intervals and takes only a few minutes. A train ticket costs 25 DKK, and you can purchase it on the platform at Roskilde Station. 

You can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at the festival station, and from there, you can move further into the camping area. From the train station at Roskilde Festival, you can walk along Darupvej to Rent Your Tent North. 

Parking

We encourage you to use one of the many public transport options. If you need to park with your own car, we have parking spaces in Park N’ Pay West and Park N’ Pay Far West. You pay to park. We encourage you to pre-book your parking if you want to ensure finding a parking space. You can book a parking space through our webshop now. 

In collaboration with GreenMobility, we have earmarked parking spaces for their environmentally friendly shared cars in the Drop-off Zone Park N’ Pay Far West and north of Entrance North. 

You are staying at Caravan North or MC Camping. 

If you're arriving with your own caravan or motorcycle, you should drive directly to the dedicated area for this purpose. Caravan North and MC Camping are accessed via Darupvang. The area opens from Saturday 29 June at 16:00. 

When you arrive at the entrance at Darupvang, you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband and then access the campsite. 

Please note that the entrance at Darupvang is open: 

Saturday 29 June from 16:00 to 20:00 
Sunday 30 June to Saturday 6 July from 10:00 to 18:00

Please note: For Early Entry to Caravan North, you only have to purchase one ticket per caravan – not per person.

You are staying at Caravan South or Sleep-In Buses. 

If you arrive with your own caravan or Sleep-In Buses, you should drive directly to the dedicated areas for this purpose. Caravan South and Sleep-In Buses are accessed via Kamstrupvej. The area opens from Saturday 29 June at 16:00.

When you arrive at the entrance at Kamstrupvej, you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband and then access the campsite. 

Please note that the entrance at Kamstrupvej is open: 

Saturday 29 June from 16:00 to 20:00
Sunday 30 June to Saturday 6 July from 10:00 to 18:00

Early Entry for the extra eagerly

Please note: For Early Entry to Caravan South or the Sleep-In Buses, you only have to purchase one ticket per caravan/Sleep-In Bus – not per person.
