After every festival we start the hunt for the best audience photo. With the sun as a regular guest at Roskilde Festival 2009, the setting could not get much better for capturing great photos.
This year's festival was the hottest Roskilde Festival in 33 years, and the sky did not offer much rain. Yet, the water element is part of several pictures – and it is also what characterises this year's winning photos.
The three photos below have each won the title of best audience photo, and the photographers have each won a ticket to next year's festival.
All other photos in the gallery below are wonderful runner-ups. Together they sum up Roskilde Festival 2009. Make sure to flick through the entire gallery - it is great entertainment.
Jakob Ek has captured a group of guys enjoying some bottles of Lambrusco in an inflatable bathing pool. It is cosy, it is nuts – and it is a true Roskilde moment that has become a true favourite.
Jimmy Gustavsson has taken a picture in front of Orange Stage where a festival-goer is pouring a glass of water over himself as a relieving cool-down.
Sille Linnet has photographed a couple of festival service guards who let the water hose cool down the festival-goers. A passing woman gets this service treatment – and it looks like a nice and wet moment.
