Garbage initiatives 2012
Perhaps the dustbin is only 15 meters away, but it might as well was situated in Lolland. Therefore Roskilde Festival upgrades with 500 extra dustbins at the public area and 300 new waste bins to the food shops. That is why you can easily get rid of your garbage during the Festival and the food shop areas can be kept nice and clean.
From early morning till night you will meet the new Festival mobile dustcarts at the camping area. Together with a number of happy volunteers they will keep the Festival clean and help you get rid of your garbage.
The dustcarts are painted orange with an orange rotor flash so they are easily recognized when they circulate at the camping area in the light hours.
On the carts the volunteers are ready to help you get rid of your garbage and provide you with garbage bags.
When you trash your garbage you switch on the light in Roskilde.
93 pct. of all garbage at the Festival will be used to create heating and electricity in the city. It is therefore a good idea to trash your garbage in the nearest dust bin.
The Roskilde Festival is the leading festival concerning the handling of garbage and waste, and according to the new initiatives the festival expects - with the help from all the participants - to turning Roskilde Festival into Denmark’s most green Festival.
