The originally black-coloured metal genre has long since exploded in fireworks of colours and genre shifts.
With Red Album and Blue Record Baroness have made a name for themselves as one of the most progressive front-runners of Southern metal, alongside like-minded Roskilde acts such as Mastodon and Kylesa.
Power metal, psychedelia and dirty 70s rock are thrown into the cement mixer, and out comes a refined, majestic and crushingly brutal rock monster.
Baroness master a balancing act that many bands should envy. Their music is full of artiness and curlicues but will still excite the many beer-thirsty rock fans at the festival site.
The new album, Yellow & Green, will be released this summer.

Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
