DEAD CAN DANCE (AU/UK)
Friday 05.07.13 - 15:30 - Arena
On the comeback record Anastasis, Dead Can Dance, the black princes of the 80s, break a 16-year-long silence.
Roskilde Festival presents their first Danish concert ever, the only one of its kind in Scandinavia this summer.
Through a fog of chanting vocals, reverb and thick synthesizers, Dead Can Dance calls forth the bewitched sweetness of Arabian nights and the odours and steams of the Far East.
Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard chased their distinct, flickering muse back at a time when the ethnic provinces in the music felt way more remote than today. Now that Dead Can Dance are back to cast their spell, they do so as true pioneers.

Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
