Although he was born far from Kingston Town, Gentleman has captured a large audience with his European hybrid of reggae, dancehall and R&B.

The German-born rasta soul is also appreciated in Jamaica. He has made several trips to the island and won the respect of the country's musicians. At the same time he encourages his large, international audience to remember the reggae genre's message of universal love and diversity.

Gentleman comes to Roskilde with his big band The Evolution as a solid backing.
