HYMNS FROM NINEVEH (DK)
Jonas Haahr Petersen’s first songs drew comparisons to Jeff Buckley and early Leonard Cohen, especially due to their intimate intensity and fervour.
2014 finds the religious songwriter talent back at Roskilde Festival with hymns of a larger scope. His backing band of four musicians adds body to the songs by means of organ, banjo, guitar, bass and sitar.
The music has adopted stadion pop aspirations, while faith and spirituality add complex light patterns in the songs.
Hymns From Nineveh combine folk, pop, and alternative rock with a beauty and poetry available for everybody to enjoy regardless of personal beliefs.
Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
