MACKLEMORE AND RYAN LEWIS (US)
Friday 06.07.12 - 15:45 - Cosmopol
Seattle's hiphop mascot is no longer called Sir Mix-A-Lot. Macklemore is the name in 2012. At home he is close to owning the keys to the city, and the rest of America is also about to catch up on the white rapper's genuine hip hop.
The Seattle hero sends an erect middle finger to the conservative souls of the genre. Here you get to hear samples from The Killers and Red Hot Chili Peppers, a showdown with Nike in "Wings" and tribute songs to something as un-hip hop a sport as baseball.
With producer and beat smith Ryan Lewis aboard, Macklemore treats us with different emotional hip hop that can hijack many hearts – even outside of hip hop circles.
Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
