Sunday 07.07.13 - 14:00 - Gloria
The Nubian tribes originally lived in Egypt and the Sudan close to their beloved river; the Nile. The famous body of water is the heart, pulse and soul in Nubanour’s music. Using their special tambourine-like frame drums as the core, the white-clad ensemble sings about the joys and sorrows of their people. Unfortunately the latter takes up most of the repertoire. The music of Nubanour has a droning, chant-like quality rooted in centuries of ordeal. In their groovy and captivating music, clapping and dance we encounter an exiled people yearning to return to the well of their origin.
Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
