until Roskilde Festival 2014 - 29 June to 6 July

Friday 06.07.12 - 00:00 - Pavilion

According to music legend T Bone Burnett, Chris Thile – frontman and mandolin visionary in Punch Brothers – may very well be to bluegrass music what Louis Armstrong was to jazz.

With their banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and upright bass, Punch Brothers may look like your classic homegrown bluegrass band. But this quintet is undeniably contemporary, and their folk sound doesn’t prevent them from flirting intensively with jazz, pop and alternative rock.

Experience yourself why Punch Brothers are being called the future of bluegrass by the good people of Memphis, the stronghold of this traditional and authentic genre.

Band schedule is ready in May

Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.

We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
