The music of the Roma people does not have to be played using horn ensembles. Söndörgö has had their breakthrough on the European roots-scene with a teeming concoction of harmonies from the southern Slavic regions, inspiringly transplanted to the bands home north of Budapest. The lively music is played and performed almost solely on the tambura; a regional stringed instrument whose potential is milked to the last drop. The virtuoso group of brothers and cousins has transferred their ancestral music to a present gear. This ensemble of well-playing fiery souls will give us a delightfully updated performance of the regions folk music.
