THE SOUL REBELS (US)
Friday 05.07.13 - 12:00 - Cosmopol
An average of 250 live performances a year has earned The Soul Rebels a description as a thoroughly well practised ensemble. Their musical origin is the horn music played at funeral marches in New Orleans and they play a mix between traditional music and soul, funk, jazz and hip-hop. These gentlemen separate from more traditional brass bands by often letting vocals accompany the glistening notes. The Soul Rebels stir the generic gumbo while syncopes sputter, flash and writhe through the sparkle of trombones and tubas. Backed by a socially conscious hip-hop attitude and a wealthy musical tradition this band is ready to give the world a party version of New Orleans.

Band schedule is ready in May
Roskilde Festival releases the time schedule in May, if everything works out at least somewhat according to plan.
We don’t do it until then to make the best schedule possible for our audience. When we, for various reasons, are forced to make changes late in the process, we have a better chance at putting together a programme that considers both the spreading of genres, the performer's touring plans and safety at the festival.
