  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

APOLLO in the camping area, the worst idea so far.

Having participated in 6 festivals since 01', I've been witness to bad and good ideas - mostly the last kind. However, placing the APOLLO stage in WEST near the C-tower is probably the worst idea so far.

I'm used to music untill early morning - and I'm used to sleeping right through most of it. But with a stage that close to the tents it's almost impossible talk to each other, let alone sleep. That it's an electronic music scene only makes the problem even more present, the bass simply drowns everything else.

PLEASE MOVE IT!! It's a festival, I KNOW, but there's a reason why camping and festival areas are divided!

I kind of agree. I love the idea of a stage in the camping areas where partying people can easily go if they want to "step it up" a bit. That said, even living about halfway between the C and Cx towers, I was kept involuntarily awake by the music from Apollo on more than one occasion. As I see it, the stage needs to either shut down earlier, or at least lower the volume significantly at some point during the night.

I totally agree. This was my 12th time at the festival and I've never complained about the music/sound/noise in the camping area before, but the bass from the Apollo stage was horrible.
We were living right behind the stage, next to the tower C, and when the music started to play, the bass made it almost impossible to talk together, play guitar, sleep.. anything! It's okay with loud music but the bass went right through your bones in the really unpleasant kind of way.
I was working in the stengade bar, and the bass in there was horrible too. It was so hard to hear the customers, concentrate and just think, in general, because of the bass. icon_cry.gif I am very sorry that I had to listen to it like 12 hours a day. I really really hope that the festival will reconsider a couple of details concerning the apollo scene. Thanks.

Totally agree too. Lived in the middel of camp C. And especially in the music days you could not by any means relax in your camp (before the music stopped at around 3 or 4 am). So please find a better solution next year, so camp C is not totally electronic mayhem.

Maybe the stage could be placed at the festivalground from thursday to sunday and then only placed at camp site in the warm-up days.

I also heard a lot of complaints from people in the workers-camp on the other side of the road who couldn't sleep because of the bass and thereby was super tired when they have to work

My 5th time at roskilde, been living in the middle of the party zone in L, been neighbours to Van Damme Camp and Promilleservice, and I never had trouble sleeping. But living in C 5 mins walk from the Apollo stage made it almost impossible to get some rest before the music stopped - especially the bass level was way over a reasonable limit.
Thank you for bring it up lolk.
- Peace.

It was in C for several days? You poor bastards!

Staying in P, I fortunately I only only had to listen to this atrocity one day. After about an hour or two I had enough of the crappy sound system it had (or probably more like it, idiotic "sound engineer", in quotations because I thought you'd actually had to pass an exam to be called that) with comb filtering and ground reflections. I bet the waterfall chart of it made the Alpes look like a pancake in comparison. So I decided to vacate P the night it played there and return when it stopped.

It should be renamed Thieves Delight instead as I bet they had a field day in the emptied camp areas it played in.

If you insist on having an electronica stage playing the warm-up days which isn't inherently a bad idea as I recognize that some people may actually like that type of music. At they very least it should be on the festival grounds in connection with the Pavillion Junior stage. Failing that, place it in Media City so the rest of us don't have to listen to it.

On page 4 here http://issuu.com/roskilde-festival/docs/orange_press_2012_07-s_ndag/1 it says that Apollo stage will move to the festival site as a part of a larger stage rearrangment where Odeon will move to a new area north of Gloria (and Arena), Cosmopol will move to the current Odeon area and I guess Apollo will take the current Cosmopol spot.

I know that already.

It's a gentle nudge to ensure that the festival keep it completely off the camping grounds entirely as I think there's still speculation of moving it around on the camping ground during warm-up.

I agree to 100% What a stupid idea.
I really like it load and have no problem with the party 24/7. If it´s to loud I just use my earplugs. But. When the fuckin Apolo was next to the tent it didn´t helped at all.

Then is it another thing who is really bad with it. I like that it´s much things who´s going on at the camping area. But when it´s even comes to stage and bands whos playing is it many who are happy enough to just sneak in at the camping without a ticket.

But please take away the Apollo from the camping. When it was as worst and I really was in need for sleep. The earplugs didn´t helped at all do I really felt to go out and destroy the fucking apollo. Cancel the electric power or amty the air for the stage-tent.

I really hate to have feelings like that at Roskilde. Otherwise was Roskilde as allways amaizing. But in the end of the week when myck sleept was so fuckt up I was really tired of it and I didn´t likde that it had impact for my good Roskilde mood the next day. When I become way to tired.

So yeah! Thank you very much if you remove Apollo next year.

Must admit i didn't have to live with it all day, but my biggest problem with it was the sound i totally agree with you on that Saturnus, and i am one those crazy basterds that actually likes this kind of music icon_wink.gif

The sound at Apollo stage was simply terrible this year and i do hope they will fix it. Otherwise it would result in me choosing other concerts above Apollo concerts, even though the artists at Apollo would be more appealing to me (thus greatly reducing the overall quality of my festival experience).

I'm also happy that they decided to move the stage to the festival ground. I was at several concerts and Modeselektor was the only one that drew more than a couple hundred people, probably due to the awkward placement so far away from the other stages.

Sometimes you get what you ask for, Apollo is moved to a new area located close to the Pavilion stage, I´m guessing that it is the place just outside the entrance gate to Pavilion.

But it will however still move around the camping site in the warm up days.

Oh God, why?

Seems to me the only reason for that is that they've bought this mobile stage atrocity, and now wants to use that ability no matter how inane and ill conceived the idea was in the first place, and have proven itself to be.

If the stage is going to be in connection with the Pavillion Jr. area, let it be there all week where it doesn't bother that many people.
