Hey! This will be our first time at Roskilde this year and we're wondering what on earth to bring. We're all used to camping in Hellish climates from our Scottish festival experiences from past years but that's been four days maximum. Nine days is a new one for us. Is the weather as unpredictable as it is over here? The obvious festival requirements are a given but we're just curious what anyone who's been before has brought to survive nine days of pure camping carnage.
Any suggestions/thoughts would be much appreciated.
- Four Scottish newbies.

Sunlotion and wellies.
Climate is pretty much the same, and just bring whatever you're used too at the Scottish festival, and you should be fine.. Obviously bring 5 pairs more of underwear, unless you're going comando, or completly naked.. Wouldn't be the first time we've seen that on Roskilde.

Fixed
Also bring some bottles of Booze as you are allowed to bring it into the festival Area (if it's in a refundable container up to 1/2 liter).
...and please don't bring anymore stereos, some earplugs might be a great Idea!

The usual stuff as said above, just more of some things.
Wellies, you will most likely have use for them at least one day.
Sun lotion, you will need that if you're fair skinned regardless of weather
Socks and underwear, one pair of each per day. Alternatively buy cheap packs in the supermarket to toss out
Wet wipes and a roll of quality toilet paper, both are more essential than you might think
A warm sweater or summer jacket, those summer nights get pretty cold sometimes.
Duck tape, a camping essential

Reading the " The influx of sound systems are raping festival.." thread in this section, I would count as an essential - knowledge to bring to the festival.

Remember to pick up a camping chair in Copenhagen or Roskilde when you arrive. I assume you don't want to carry one all the way from Scotland.
You might want to stop in a grocery store on the way as well, to pick up some bread and canned tuna or similar for the first day or two. It's nice to have something in your camp, and it's of course cheaper than going to the stalls all the time.
