Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Me and my 2 buds have reached an age where we feel that caravan is more our thing.
But we are surprised that only 1 tent is allowed with 1 caravan, though an unlimited number of residents are allowed.

Why is that? There should be plenty space in front of a caravan for 2 tents - No, we dont move out on caravan to start sharing again like 20 years ago!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I have seen the area before. Caravans gets spaced about 3m between and an area allocated for the fronttents.
Instead of 1-1 policy, why not just allocate the area (5m*5m or so) and let people decide for themselves what to place in the space not occupied by the caravan?

The rules are made by the local fire department, just as with the regular tent area. I think the idea is that since there are gas installation etc. in the wagon, they are afraid that the fire will spread rapidly if there's a 'tent-bridge' between the wagons.

But welcome to caravan. I been there for the last three years and have really enjoyed it.

Placing 2 iglo tents in front of the caravan instead of the usual fronttent wouldnt create a firebridge. There would still be the required 3 meters to the next caravan.

As i see it, there is allocated a square of approx 5x5 meters for the caravan with 3 meters free space in every direction before the next caravan.
The caravan only fills half the space, and in the other half of space there is only allowed 1 tent.

No, and they probably won't mind either.

You have a ticket for it? Then there's room. If not, don't expect so (and you'll still need a ticket).

We came Wednesday last year and were one of the first wagons on the 2nd area (long walk!). So Sunday is not a problem at all. You need to buy a caravan ticket no matter what, which will also guarentee you a space.

Is there a sizelimit to the 1 tent you can place in front of the caravan?
A 2x2 m. igloo is 1 tent.
A 3x3 m. pavillon is 1 tent.
Will a 6x3 m. partypavillon be 1 tent?

Yes. Read the caravan camping rules.

Tent, no problem. Pavillion, borderline. Partypavillion, no way.

As long as it's placed with the 6m side up against the caravan I'm not sure they mind (no matter what the rules say) as long as it's instead of a regular front tent. Our front tent is almost that big.

From the rules: "It is allowed to pitch one awning to each caravan. Alternatively you can bring a small tent of similar size".

An awning (front tent) has the size of the wagon so you are probably not allowed to put anything up the will exceed the length of your wagon.
