  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Coming on Sunday: which camp is recommended?

I will be at Roskilde on sunday 28 june between 16.00 and 19.00 I'm coming with a friend, so just 2 people, 2 small tents. I was wondering how many people already are settled on the camps at that moment and what the best place is for us to search for a nice spot.
Note: 24/7 party is no problem! We are looking for a noisy place icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the advice!

I read in the festival newspaper last year that over 50000 arrived during the first 24h. That would be from midnight sat/sun to midnight sun/mon.
So I would say it looks pretty full when you arrive sunday afternoon.
Best bet is to ask some people in orange vests that "patrol" the area if they know where it's not full.
But then again, two tents might be squeezed in anywhere..but ask your neighbours first to be sure. icon_smile.gif

concidering that E-camp does not open for the public (those without a sufficiant amount of green fottsteps) untill 16:00 on sunday, I would say that is a place that would have some free spots around the time you arrive. And several big camps, such as Orange Camp, will be heading that way! icon_smile.gif

I would say that very unlikely. If you're not in the queue your not going to be able to setup a camp that size at all I guess. Maybe only at the most remote locations.

That should be a problem. You might even try your luck a bit more north.

Actually my answer was a lot more accurate icon_wink.gif

It's impossible to know at this time really ... if it was L or G, then yes, the area would be filled completely at that time but J is the farthest away you can get on East (now that P is not open).

Hello,

what's about agora M? We will arrive around 7 in the morning on Sunday, so hopefully we will get our wristband before the gates will open, but we will be the last ones in the queue.

How are the experience with agora M? Is it normally full at first, or is it Agora L and N?

Thanks for the answers!!!

We went for a spot in L last year, but because we were half asleep and got up 30 seconds after everyone else, everything was taken. So we camped in M instead, where there was plenty of space, and the atmosphere was just as good as anywhere else. Camping there again this year.

Will be at Roskilde on Thursday 2 july. I'm coming with some friends and we got 1 big tent. I was wondering how many people already are settled on the camps at that moment and what the best place is for us to search for a nice spot? Is it possible to get a camp then?

99% of all people have already come several days before at that point and your best bet if as far north as possible but ask the camping guard (those in orange vests) if they know a place that is still free at that time. Certainly not impossible to find a camping spot but it'll be "far away", ie. it'll be at least 10-15 minutes walk from main stage.

Not having P this year really sucks icon_mad.gif
It seems almost impossible for a small camp who arent planning on queueing all night to find room to set up their tents and a pavillion!

Me, my girlfriend and 3 friends are arriving in CPH on the 27th, but staying there till the 28th... We`ll probably arrive some time in the early afternoon, and we`ll most likely be taking 3 tents and a pavillion... Is there much chance of us getting a spot in somewhere like J, H, F or K? We dont mind being a bit far away..

Hey I received this yesterday from RF. Sounds like it's still possible it might open mate so chin up icon_smile.gif

"Especially festival-goers from Sweden and Iceland are experiencing difficulties due to a great fall fall in the rates of exchange – so we may not have as many guests from those countries compared to previous years.

Because of this situation, we have chosen to have some camping areas as "reserves" and to open fewer areas than normally. This way, we won't have way too much space available if we don't receive that many foreign guests. And on the other hand, naturally, we will open these areas if we expect to have a sold-out festival.

To make things easiest, we have chosen camping area P as a reserve area this year - as it can easily be opened gradually according to how many guests are arriving.

If it's only 1 smallish tent you can strike luck just about anywhere.
Just ask around if you find a spot and maybe people can rearrange a bit to fit you in.
Otherwise the general rule is, the further away you get from the festival area, the better chances on finding open spaces.

Ask one of those in Orange vests. That's the best answer I can give because as already stated before in this thread, a guess on where and when there'll be free spaces left is just about as stable as rocket fuel in a bonfire.

Just some general advice for those of you arriving late.
If you come by car and/or in a large group. Leave as much camp gear as you can in the car or with a few people in your group and go out hunting for a camp spot with only your tents. You can also leave your stuff at an angora storrage for a wile if you are only with a few people.
You can get back to get the rest for your gear once you've setup camp. This saves you from dragging all your stuff with you for hours searching for a spot.

Make sure you bing a print out of the camp area with you so you know where you are and you know where you are going (there will be a map printed in the booklet you receive as well).

The most popular locations will be the once closest to the festival area. So the camp spots furthest away from the festival area are the most likely to still contain some free spaces.

If you are 2 females and one small tent you can ignore everything above as you'll will be able to camp anywhere you like. A camping spot will appear as by magic in even the most dense packed areas.
