Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I would love if people submitted the cream of the crop in terms of fun drinking games on a festival site. As the week gets long and it gets tougher and tougher to get the body going how do we trick each other into getting drunk and happy 12 hours again (as fast as possible)?

Simultaneously I'm getting quite a bit tired of the beer bowling and Beer bongs that seem to be the standards of drinking at 90 % of the camp-site. It's simply too boring! Where's the final 10% that people (I) need to know about, so we can get a more diverse festival site. What are you doing yourself or what have you encountered in other camps?

Saturnus inveted this drinking "game" for the controle of our camp stereo:

You want control of the music, you chuck a beer, then you can play anything you like until someone else wants control and chucks a beer. That way variation is guarenteed as long as anyone is still sober enough to care.

The rule would always apply, btw. if you start the music in the morning, you chuck a beer. If you've chucked a beer for the purpose of just stopping the music, that's fine too. Someone else have to chuck to restart it.

I will apply this to my camp of about 30-40 people. Chaos is garanteed!

I saw James Mays Man Lab last day and they came up with some sort of beer game called Beerhunter.

But instead of wasting 100 beers on one game I came up with a simple rule.

Only one beer (out of 3) is shaken and the one person who´s been covered in beerfoam has to drink x amount of beer in x amount of time.

Well my camp is doing a weeklong drinking game based on the Tour De France (as many of you propably know in different versions). The fun thing is that we take it very seriously and that it is very structured.

There's a stage EVERY day at 12.00 exactly. If your late, no one waits. If your hungover - bad luck.

A standard (flat) stage is typically 30 min. with a minimum requirement of 2 beers (to not go COMPLETELY out of this years tour), but the most beers win. Completed beers count in the general clasification. On a 30 min. stage the winner will usually down around 6-8 beers.

But it's not all standard stages. The week also features individual time trials (1 at a time. eg. 5 or 10 min. to down beers), team time trials (collective amount of beer on the team) mountain stages with different shots being mountains and this year even cobblestone. All stages with different minimum requirements and length in time etc.

It's very structured with yellow jersey for the leader, green jersey for the sprinter, polkadot for mountain climbers, and just a lot of fun, because you can't do such a long drinking game in your everyday lives, and you have a lot of good fights and ups and down during 8 days.

Sprinter points is in this game the first to reach the minimum beer requirements giving a hectic and fun start. Mountain points the same way when shots are involved. (propably many other rules I'm forgetting).

Our camp of 20 people are very into it, and its very prestigous all year to be the former winner. The guy structuring it had the route out around christmas this year so people could start training icon_razz.gif

You sure have fun and get drunk every day, very early icon_smile.gif

Still I'll get us into both the music game and the beer russian roulette. Looks very fun...

At another really good but way smaller festival called Wilwarin (check it out!) here in Germany me and my pals used to hold the Zwickmuehle world championship - it is a devastating game to play, so be warned!

To play the game, you need the following: 1 small shot glass - 4 cl, 1 small water glass - 10...15 cl, a table, 1 or 2 decks of 32 playing cards (amount depends on number of players).

In addition, every player needs to bring 3 coins - usually 1 Euro or 2 Euro coins - up to the round of players to determine, and a bottle of liquor each.

The game that is being played is called Schwimmen - to swim - in German.
Before the deck is shuffled, the loser of the previous round gets to pour a drink from any of the present bottles into one of the available glasses - which one is entirely up to the player.
Next, the deck is shuffled and each player is handed 3 cards. another 3 cards are deposited in the middle. The starting player (changes clockwise every round) then picks up the three cards and swaps any of his own deck with the three he picked up. Next, he hands the resulting 3 cards to his neighbour and so on.
The aim is to assemble a high sum of cards - 3 of the same number/image are 30 and 1/3, 3 aces are 33, numbers just add up, etc. (remember, only 7,8,9,10 in a deck of 32 cards)
If nobody swaps any cards for a full round, a new set of three swapping cards is put into the game.
If a player thinks he has enough points, he can, if it is his turn, knock onto the table, meaning there will be one last round of swapping.

Here the twist: If your score is lowest, you lose a life and have to put one of your three coins into the pot. If your score is highest you win the round and drink the shot that's on the table.
Once you have put all your coins into the pot, you have one last life left. Once you lose that, you're out and have to leave the round.

This means that in the end, when only one player is left, that player is handed the contents of the pot and might be a rich, but certainly also veeeery drunk person.

There are some additional rules that were invented, only one comes to mind, though: If a player wants to get up. e.g. for a fence visit, the player has to chuck a beer or drink a shot before leaving.

Might post the other additional rules another day if i can remember them.

Hope this makes any sense - enjoy the game!

Love the - chug a beer to change the music - ! Hehe

We don't play that many games but there are 2 events that recur year after year

1. Club100 - this is great for bigger group (your entire camp , maybe invite your neighbours if you like them). Game length about an hour. First thing to do is gather 100 songs before roskilde starts , invite your fellow campers to propose songs etc. These 100 songs are cut into 30 sec samples with a horn and a break after every 30 second bit. Bring the playlist to roskilde. Play it. After every 30 second bit music stops and you say cheers , of course in danish SKÅÅL and then the next song starts. It's great because you can conversate and have a good time without being super focused. If you complete the game, you should end up being a little tipsy to say the least icon_smile.gif

2. Gin Petanque - this game is simple and doesnt require any preparation really like composing playlists etc. Bring a beer to enjoy on the side. All you need is a bottle of liquor (Gin/Whiskey/Vodka/Arnbitter etc) and every player (2 up to 6 players) needs an item (tennis ball/shoe/sodacan/stick/whatever you can throw) which is kept throughout the game. Every round starts by the Gin bottle being tossed like the "cochon" in petanque (if the bottle is fragile or cirmumstances dont allow it, just place the bottle on the ground) and turn by turn every player aims for the bottle. The player that ends up with his item furthest away from the bottle loses and takes sip from the bottle and the game is over when the bottle is empty icon_eek.gif

edited to remove quotation marks , man they look messed up in here icon_biggrin.gif

Just a small game with nerf guns I came up with for my camp

You can only shoot those who have a gun once every half hour.
You only have 10 minutes to shoot a new comer to the camp unless they carry or pick up a nerf gun.
If you shoot and miss you drink 1.
If you are shot you drink 2.
If you catch a bullet in your hands shooter drinks 3.
If you shoot someone twice within half an hour you drink 1.
If you shoot someone without a gun you drink 2.
If you are a new comer and are shot you only drink if you join the game.
If new comer joins they can be shot immediately.
If you are shot by multiple bullets you drink 3.
If you pass out outside of your tent (with a gun) you are classified a dead man.
Dead men can be shot, or pranked.
If you shoot someone who is or from inside of a tent you drink 1.
