Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Can someone please give me a sense of how the lockers work for valuables? I will be coming to Europe for 5 weeks from Costa Rica and will be traveling with aprox. $3000 worth of photography gear. It won't be obvious however, as my kit is very travel-friendly and compact. But it cannot be at risk. Ideally I want to put a backpack into the valuable locker on Thursday when I get there and then take it out on Sunday when I leave; I don't need to access it during the festival. How reliable is this service? Would I be better off storing it at the airport or train station luggage storage facility? Any and all thoughts appreciated! Cheers. -Ashraf

In my experience very reliable. I've had to lug my laptop along for the past three years' festivals to work in order to work in the daytime during warm-up. Expensive machine, but I'd leave it in the valuables storage anytime.

It works like this: You bring your stuff to the valuables storage. There is one at each agora plus one just outside one of the entrances from the camping site to the festival site, as far as I remember. You hand in your stuff and get a ticket in return, which you then hand in whenever you want your stuff back. As far as I remember, you can always mention on the ticket, which you fill in with a password, that your item is an extra valuable piece of kit. They will then take special care of that.

I have yet to hear about examples where stuff has gone missing from the storage booths.

I should note that the storage lockers are on an open field in temporary buildings so for insurance reasons there might be a limit to how much can be reclaimed in the unlikely event that the lockers themselves and thereby the content are damaged, for example by flooding or fire.

I'm not saying the storage lockers are completely safe but for very valuable equipment it might be a better option to pay for the service at the airport or central station. Especially seeing that you're not going to be using the equipment at all at the festival. Current rates are around €7 per day both places. (Note: self service boxes only accept coins).
