Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

We (3 Persons) will hopefully arrive on Sunday, about 7 in the morning, so we want to be ready when the gates open at 8.

I'm a little bit uncertain, I was at RF the last time in 2005 and it was no problem to get a good camping spot.

We want to camp at agora L or N. Is it a good chance to get a nice spot without making a race when the gates open? Or do we have to run for our lives not to get a spot at agora J?

I want to camp at east, because I always did. Or do I have to change my plans and go to camping west?

What do you think?

I think you can forget about L when you arrive that late. N should be possible though.

We're all pretty confused/angry about P going. Can we please have word from the official people asap as to what's being done about this and why, as I'm not bothering to spend £200 on a ticket to come and struggle to find a decent, big spot for all of us.

We got a nice explanation yesterday, if you go back to the previous pages and check them out.

Apologies for not seeing that. But I still think it's pretty certain that they will have to open P this year, eitherway. We won't be arriving at the festival until lunchtime Sunday, and there'll probably be almost 15 of us. We have several tents and will be having a pavillion. Will it still be easy for us to find a place at this time? There's not been an issue in the past.

Does that mean that it will be possible to arrive wednesday and still be sure of a campingspot? I've heard you (Roskilde Festival) made such arrangements previous years icon_smile.gif

Yes, you can be sure of a camping spot - but it's not pick'n'choose if you arrive Wednesday. You may have to look around a bit...

I'll bet you just have to look at P icon_biggrin.gif

Is it just me, or do the agoras change place from year to year? As I recall in 2007 J was close to the festival-area, N was the area furthest away and M was by the lake...

As I recall only the lettering change, the Agoras are actually in the same position

I do belive that was his point.. And yeah they do..(which is slightly anoying..)

Hey...
we changed them to make it in the right alphabetic order, they will not be changed this year.

Hey.

I can now tell you all, that the G area is getting bigger. We are opening some of the area that was use by the gravel pit for some years ago, it is opened now for camping.

This year? Is this not shown on the map?

Edit: something like this:

(as predicted by Mr. Monster in the gavel pit thread?)

Good news! Hi-five and thumbs up for feedback!icon_biggrin.gif
Could you be so kind to alter the official campingmap?
We would like to know the full "battleground"

No, but it's shown on the map in the gravel pit thread ... as usual us forum members beat the festival's official announcements by months. We all knew G was bigger than shown on the official map (but the offical shows roads in the middle of the gravel pit area so that gives a clue icon_biggrin.gif)

Now, only question is when the refilled area between East and G will be taken into use. The gravel pit is actually now just the narrow strip right up to the festival area fence. And as far as I know the last bit on east side that can be dug. So 4-6 years from now, the gravel pit will be completely gone.

It just can't be the final map. icon_eek.gif

why don't you read things more closely before you post anything, as said by mr. christensen of roskilde festival, they will open up camping areas if they sell out and will need more space, the old p area is a reserve area, so if they need more space, then they will open that up

I did read it.. It's just that many people were quite happy with that agora, so it's pretty sad if they don't open it just because there isn't that many comming to the festival.
Maybe expressed it a bit wrong, but I do find it kind off sad.

oh i see it was more of a "why god why?!" thing? my bad then ^^

Some time ago they (Esben?) talked about the gravel-pit moving west of the rails in one of the years to come. At some point they would also start working on making an extra lane in one of the free- (or motor-) ways next to the west-camp, and thereby eliminating it (the west-camp) totally. By that point, hopefully, the entire east-camp is ready for camping - making it like it was in the old days I suspect?

Anybody else remember this or heard something similar?

Yes, they are planning to make the freeway six lanes and a freeway junction with a new freeway going to Ringe/Næstved starting just about where the skate ramp is now. When is open question but it will come eventually since it's posted on the Secretary of Roads homepage (Vejdirektoratet) but I think it said that construction planned to start (or was it finish) in 2015. With the current econimic situation they might start that sooner than expected to create jobs though.

B. didn't post the correct image ... here's the right one. I think the Festival would do well on the final map release to get it correct, and not to mark the refilled (but still unusuable area) in the same colour as the gravel pit ... send a positive signal by marking it light green or something like that.

Well, that would depend on whether that area (the yellow box) is open for public use, to hang out there etc., or not. This would indeed be great, because allthough we would'nt be able to camp there, it would shorten the walk to the stages a lot for a lot of people...and look good on the map icon_smile.gif

Well, it (the yellow area) will not be open under circumstances but they could just colour it light green, and then show fence lines like other similar places on the map.

Well sorry, Jesper but as long you don't have an "Official RF person" in your name tag, i don't take what you are saying, as an official RF statement, I still await an "Official RF person" to make that statement. icon_confused.gif
