Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

But wy do any one want to bring 15 friends from back home and live with them the whole festival? its kind of pointless to go to a place like Roskilde and spend most of your time in your own camp with people you you can party with some other time. And its no big deal if some of your friends lives 100 meters away. Ive got old friends in every direction of the festival. If i want to have a beer with i use my legs.

In the ticket sales numbers that have been discussed, are volunteers included in those or is it only "real" tickets? (meaning can we add XX.XXX visitors to the numbers?)

Hey...

The ticket sales numbers are not including the volunteers, there will be around 25.000 volunteers attending Roskilde Festival. But some of them are camping i speciel areas for volunteers only.

@jesper: Thanks, but I'm worried about the situation. It's my 11th festival, and every year more and more people arrive at saturday/sunday. An maybe when we come at sunday it's difficult to find enough space at the south (we don't want to go to the westside because we're at the south since ever)because we need space for 17 peoples but they all will be arrive between sunday and wednesday. It will be very bad when we have no chance to reserve space for all our friends. And that's it was make the Roskilde Spirit: Camping and making party together for one week with all friends together. So I hope that sunday afternoon "P" is open, because all the last years it was the best place to be and there're enough space to find a big camp for all together. You wrote that 1 1/2 person being in a tent but don't forget the space for the pavilions icon_smile.gif)

Hey...

I know you are worried, and I hope it will be allright at ´09.
It´s not me who are closing areas, I´m just trying to make it work with the plans the management are making.

I love to be optimistic!
And I have one nice comment regarding the ticketsales and camping areas.
In '07 there were apx 50 000 arriving sunday morning.
And in '08 there were even more people in line.
SO, if there are 40 000 tickets sold, and 20-25 000 volunteers, and far from everyone will sit in the line to get in early sunday morning, in my optimistic view, there will not be any MORE people in line this year!
WOHO! icon_smile.gif

just to make something positive out of all of this icon_razz.gif

Bullshit.

Some of my happiest memories from Roskilde have been with my friends, and I'm sure lots of people feel the same.

@trumpeter: no one here told that it's a human right to build big camps. But for the feeling - and I think it's not only my opinion - is really better, when friends can stay together. I don't mean tent to tent, but I don't want to drive to this not really cheap experience with a lot of friends which all are working hard the hole year, to make one week party, laughing, singing together, and we live somewhere between 100 meters or more ! But maybe all will be good. When it's real, that only 40.000 tickets are sold, I'm very sad, because RF lives from the graeat and big audience ! I hope, no, I THINK, that we're all will have a good time again, but, OK, I'm a litlle bit worried about the space situation....

I completely agree, I'm going to the festival with around the same amount of people and I'll be very annoyed if we can't camp together with a pavillion.

I'm not trying to complain here, I'm just worried, it won't be the same if we can't have the space to build a decent camp and it'll probably put me and alot of people off going in future years.

If all of you arent arriving on the first day, and you still want to have a nice big and comfy camp. Just camp at the outer parts of the camping area. you can't have it all.

There's only that much cake for all of us, and if you're the last dudes in line, and you still want a lot of cake, you just have to settle for somethings that's not the center piece. icon_biggrin.gif Besides, it's not like your camp will be ruined if one or two tents has to be 100-200m away from your camp. People are still allowed to sit together even though their tents are not in the same spot icon_smile.gif

anywaaaays. Have a nice time and everything is gonna be allrite'. bye bye icon_biggrin.gif

I don't think being far away from the festival site is the issue, that's certainly not my worry. My concern is getting somewhere to camp at all.

If the ticket sales increase enough to warrant opening P and RF decides to open it would you mind posting that up because I arrive on the Monday with a group that grows to 12 by Wednesday. I have never camped anywhere else but P and if that option isn't available to us I have to start making other plans. I am unsure of where else we could actually camp and still have the qualities and convenience of P that makes for the wonderful experience we keep coming back for. It's really quite worrying. Cheers

seriously enough with all the doomsday predictions going on, and just look at it when you arrive, you can just move if you realize that the spot you selected isn't big enough ?

I think the question of worry is will there be the space to just 'move' if you need to.
