Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Actually The Strangers with Candy Camp is now full, but if you are desperate or just want to have a beer or 20, feel free to drop by and say hello! Also do not forget the BBQ on the 2nd of July! It really hasn't been all it could be in the past, but this year it will be back to the grandeur it once was! Hope to see you all there!

The Strangers with Candy Camp is looking for new members: So if youw ant to be a part of The Strangers with Candy Camp, we are looking for roughly 8 more members, to have around 20 or so. We have close to that, but it doesn't hurt to make sure. We are especially looking for some fun friendly party minded women to round out the camp, as you do not want it to be all beer and testosterone.

The Strangers with Candy Camp was founded way back in 2008, when someone from this very forum started The Strangers camp. A camp dedicated to having (initial) strangers from all over come together for a week(or more) of partying, drinking, good times and even better music. The camp became The Strangers with Candy Camp the following year, after the original founder left.

So in honor of the original camp, and the original camp goals. If you do not have a camp yet and would like to join us, you are more than welcome. Especially those who are not actually from Scandinavia, as we really are an international camp and welcome people from all over the world. Also please keep in mind that all perspective members should have a good sense of humor ( ie The joke T-Shirt in my profile should not offend you), laid back, really enjoy drinking, partying and having a really good time. Roskilde is essentially one huge drinking and Music party after all.

We also hold an annual Meat and Greet BBQ, where everyone is welcome to drop by and have some food and drinks on us! The Wednesday July 2nd during the Warm Up Period by the J Tower, near the Fishing Lake around 1:00pm. Hope to see you at Roskilde either way!

The Naked Race: We have never had a member from our group represent the camp in The Naked Race. It would be nice if we did at least one year. It's good publicity and you get free drinks the whole day, even if you do not win the race (The prize for doing so is free tickets for next year). So basically it's a win win situation!

Send us a request to the group or you could have posted your Facebook profile addy here so we could look you up. It's up to the group to decide. Either way works.

Hey USlander,

I tried emailing you at the Yahoo address but it wasn't working. So I'll lay it out for you here.

My name is Tom and I'm an American expat who lives in Africa. I'll be solo traveling through Europe and will be hitting up this festival. I was wondering if you had room at your campsite for one more. Basically, I'm a 28yr old dude looking to meet some awesome people, drink copious amounts of alcohol, and listen to sweet, sweet music. I'm a pretty entertaining guy and can tell some intense and captivating tales of my adventures in the dark continent and the world. I can also play the ukulele, make a dope sandwich and whistle in three different ways!

Now, that should be enough to convince you, however, if you need some more info feel free to peruse my facebook page:

www.facebook.com/Tommy.the.Nightmare

Cheers,

Tom

TOM: The email address for the camp is strangerswithcandycamp AT yahoo DOT com...For some strange reason if I post it exactly as it is written here, the AT symbol disappears. So if you hand type the email address it will work, but we got your request.

When you say whistling three ways, you are talking about out of your mouth only?

We are trying for 20 members for the Clean Out Loud camp, but that is not a huge issue if we do not have 20. We also also trying to balance out the girls to guy ratio as well and keep it as international as possible. It has been a little Scandinavian/Dane heavy in the past. But fun people are fun people no matter where they are from.

We are not 100% sure we will camp in the Clean Out Loud Area, as we might settle for WEST camping Area C, which has a nice location and International feel to it compared to other areas and does not get as trashed, but there are still parties! SO if you need a camp still, please let us know. You can find us on Facebook. Make sure to tell us a little bit about yourselves in your post/message. Thanks and tak!

Sincerely,

The Strangers with Candy Camp:

Hi all

My name is Oscar, I'm a 24 year old brazilian living in Liverpool, UK. I'm thinking of travelling alone to Roskilde. Could you explain how this camp works? I have never been in one. I could use some company at the festival hahah! I'm thinking of getting the tent+gear package, since it's not advisable to travel with camping gear on low-cost airlines, is it the best option for me? It's my first time, so any tips would be great.

If I end up staying with you guys, I can promise brazilian kind of fun!

Cheers! icon_smile.gif

Depending on your schedule, you can actually buy a cheap tent and sleeping bag at Roskilde before the festival. It's a huge amazing party and not to be missed! Have you bought a ticket yet or anything? Message us on Facebook.

Roskilde is less than 2 months away, so those of you who have not bought tickets yet should really do so as soon as possible. Just as those of you who have not found a camp yet, should really try to find one. We still need about 8 people.

Here is a photos from the very first year of the camp, when it was still called The Strangers(Sounds dirty), and this summer will mark the first time so many of the originals are back together again in one place.

Just bumping up our page since there is roughly a month till Roskilde. We still have 3-4 spaces left for our camp. We want to fill it with party people from all over (Though we are trying to balance out the girl/boy ratio). Just be fun, friendly, have a good sense of humor (once again my T-Shirt featured in my profile pic should not offend you), and really, really enjoy drinking! Also nudity shouldn't bother you either since we are trying to get someone from the camp to run in the Naked Race for us to represent the camp. We supposedly have one already, but more would be nice so we could actually win.

You can find us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/thestrangerswithcandycamp/ or send us an email at strangerswithcandycamp AT yahoo DOT com.

Even if you do not camp with us, drop by out MEAT & GREET BBQ: https://www.facebook.com/events/277645259064343/

Take care!

HAPPY FESTIVAL!

Alright less than a month till Roskilde. I think we will have some last minute spaces for late comers, but we are camping in West so hopefully the new people have West passes. Can't wait till Roskilde! Take care!
