Our plan is to arrive at 6pm friday, and camp in L. Is that too soon or what? I wouldn't mind NOT sleeping in the waiting area. Sounds like everyone will wait till saturday
If you want a decent spot in L for a semi big camp, I don't think it's too soon AT ALL.

So, this is probably a pretty stupid question but how exactly do I get to the festival area when the busses and the train don't start operating before 17.30ish? I'll be in Copenhagen around 7am, so I'll probably want to go the the feastival area a little after that...

Walk (about an hour with your gear) or take a taxi (avoide pirat taxis).

I'd say from Roskilde station it's not more than 2030 minutes walk to East in a steady pace, with a normal amout of gear.

Trains run regularly from Copenhagen to Roskilde train station, and once you're at Roskilde it's about a 30 min walk!
Beware all the illegal cab people though.

We are from Saarland/Germany and we will arrive on saturday morning by overnighttrain, spend the day in Roskilde. (We married there last year. Then we take the train to the festivalsite in the late afternoon.

Okay, thanks! I just checked on google maps, they claim that it takes 46 minutes to walk from the trainstation to gate 32 I suppose it's not a problem to cross the highway that's crossing Køgevei?

That certainly depends on how you intend to cross it. Via one of the bridges and tunnels, no problem. Walking across it is illegal and highly lethal with cars going 120 km/h an hour hurling at you from both sides.

My plan was, of course, to throw myself straight onto the highway at a praticulary busy point, regardless of how many cars that's driving on it (a few bruises, and possibly some broken bones wont matter as long as you get to the festival, right?) hehe
I know what a highway is, which is why I was a bit concerned about the route that google planned for me, as it crossed the highway, but if there are bridges and tunnels, it should be no problem!
