Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Most of us guessed it from the teaser. Now it's official. Discuss!

Personally I'm not overly thrilled. Seen them live 3-4 times before, and even though they put on one hell of a show, I had hoped for something more fresh.

Don't really care for the band. My friends are happy with it. Only objection I have that 3 metal headliners is a bit too much. The others ones really have to be good!

Tobias - There is not 3 metal headliners , QOTSA is not metal, it is rock.

But seeing 3 headliners in the hard end is awesome! I had hopped to see Stone Sour, but I now I will have one hell of a show seeing Slipknot for the 3 time (2 at Roskilde)

They will be a must see for me, after two great concerts from them previously at RF.

But it seems very unlikely, that they will include any more remotely heavy headliners for 2013, so I can't imagine bands like Metallica and Rammstein being booked now.

But none of the 3 headliners (4 if Sigur Ros will headline) booked so far seems to be really big headliners, so I would imagine the three biggest bookings for 2013 hasn't been announced yet.

I'm guessing (and hoping) that Fleetwood Mac will be one of them. Would be a great band to close Orange stage with. If they get Daft Punk as well, they sure have some great headliners in 2013.

Not my band, even though I used to listen a lot to Slipknot in my teenage years. Gotta get teenage wasted for the show though. 2009 was pretty awesome with a sic(k) crowd icon_smile.gif

2 metal 1 hard (or stoner) rock icon_wink.gif, I know the difference, but you get my point icon_wink.gif. It feels a bit unbalanced icon_smile.gif.

I guess they´re allright. The 2009 show seemed to get the audience going. Not my cup of tea, though.

All 4 headliners so far are on my "if nothing else is playing"-list, but I kinda knew that this would happen some year. But that´s ok, I like the smaller stages better anyway.

Maybe it's a kind of strategy to get all the people who love boys with guitars to buy tickets now and then release some colour in to the mix later.

Or maybe they have figured out, once again, that subculture isn't a bad thing after all \m/

Slipknot yet again?? why?

that will be their 3th show at Orange in 10 years. Is there such a shortage on metal headliners out there?
Although they do good shows, I think this is a very bad addition to linup.

Yes there are shortage on metalheadliners. Slipknot is one of the very, very FEW metalbands who can gather a crowd worthy to the Orange Stage.. Metalheadliners in 2013 are not hanging on the tree! Not even Machine Head could gather people to the orange stage. They HAVE to play it safe concerning the big metalcrowd on the orange stage. Only Metallica, Rammstein and Maiden can pull out a crowd as big as Slipknot and Volbeat at Roskilde this year.

Hard rock, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes stoner, a few times with an added dose of metal (especially first album) and some punk mixed in it for balance.

It is balanced beautifully so far. Exactly how it should and used to be. I am slowly regaining my faith in the booking policy of RF.

Based on the first 10 releases? A bit early to tell IMO, but a good start.

Not a great fan of Slipknot myself. Cool live, but they can't really write a killer song or 10.

They tried Mastodon and they pulled less people than The Cult last year. So the answer is definitely yes!
