Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Are you sure some headliner will play Arena?

Someone from this forum had seen it on Facebook, but I can´t remember who said it.

I saw it on facebook. They said something of the sorts "we don't know who will play on what stages yet, but previous years have had a headliner on Arena and this year will not be different", but I can't find it (tryed a little, but too much work icon_smile.gif ). I'm certain it will be Albarn! I don't know why they "insist" on having a headliner on arena though.

My guess is Major Lazer...

I´m also leaning towards Major Lazer because if Albarn would play at Arena there will be no big bands at Orange to counterbalance the crowflow because in my little head Albarn is bigger than Deftones and Rob Zombie but maybe I´m wrong.

Major Lazer will play at Orange stage, if you look old post from news-section.

"This time we are in luck! Major Lazer main man Diplo, who has proven his worth at our festival before, is a party starter and trendsetter very likely to get Orange Stage buzzing.

MAJOR LAZER (US) aims the guns at Orange Stage. American super cosmopolitan Diplo, the project’s main finger-on-the-trigger, constantly hijacks musical genres and builds his own chrome-shining distortion of dancehall, reggaeton and practically everything else with a (dance) pulse."

But they have changed the text from aims the gun at Orange stage to aims the gun at Roskilde Festival.

But lets see when we have the final 9 spots filled out.

Ok I've seriously looked through the FB-page, and I can't find where they said that a headliner would play Arena. I've written them a question to try to get them to confirm again icon_razz.gif

I did find a confirmation that Manu Chao would take the Orange stage:

Roskilde Festival Peter Andersen + Johanne Helse-Bob Dødsmetal Thygesen, He's playing Orange Stage, but not Thursday. That's all we can say for now.

Sunday

Orange Stage

15:00 - Klumben og Raske Penge
17:00 - Kasabian
19:30 - Drake
22:00 - Stevie Wonder

You must be wrong about that one. Yoy just have to be wrong.
It will be to sad if Kasabian once Again will have to play Orange on a sunday in daylight as warm up for a US popact.
Last time they did a great performance in front of a crowd of mainly 40-50 year old accountants and hairdressers one day tickets just standing there to secure a good spot for Prince. Kasabian was ignored as they did not understand what great act was playing right there in front of them.
Same story once agian. Please, let them get Arena. They can easely play there at the same times as Drake og Stevie Wonder.

The only reason I could see why Kasabian should not perform at the Orange stage is this.

Roskilde announces a Orange size name that has to perform at Sunday, then one of the smaller arena names can be moved to Avalon and then Kasabian takes the empty slot at Arena.

Possible, yes. likely no.

Kasabian will play orange. They are headlining Glastonbury and I cannot see a Glastonbury headliner playing arena. Yes, U am aware that kasabian is a much greater act in uk than in Denmark.

I don't know if Drake is bigger than Kasabian but else they could move Drake to 17:00 and then Kasabian at 19:30.

They are headlining a Russian and Spanish festival as well so maybe they are the second biggest name that day at Orange stage.

I then have to move Diplo and Moderat around so Diplo and Drake doesn't clash.

I have seen Major Lazer on the main stage at another festival last summer, and they most certaintly belong there! The only headliner I could see at Arena is Damon Albarn, because his more mellow new stuff probably belongs there more than the other headliners.. Still don't get why we have to get a headliner at Arena every year though!?

I would guess that especially the last two years they did it to keep the size of the crowd down at Orange with Metallica and Springsteen playing there. For the same reason I had expected a headliner (maybe Drake) playing at Arena while Rolling Stones played Orange. But with only Stones and Outkast playing thursday, there is clearly no headliners at Arena on Thursday.

So if it happens it can only be Albarn, since Trentemøller and Major Lazer must be the night concerts at Orange and Drake at Arena on sunday will make no sense.

Found this in an article in Politiken http://politiken.dk/kultur/musik/roskildefestival/ECE2252432/roskildes-musikchef-lover-hitparade-fra-stevie-wonder/:

"Det er tredje år med Apollo-scenen, som fra begyndelsen har været dedikeret til den elektroniske musik. Og det giver fokus på genren, og i år har vi så også store navne som Major Lazer og Trentemøller på Orange"

So Major Lazer will be playing Orange as well.

I'm listening to Damon Albarns new album. It suits Arena much better than Orange. It's very quite and introvert (but not in a bad way).

I agree. In his show the main focus will be on new solo album (maybe over half of the songs will be from new album), so it would fit perfectly to Arena.

I'm thinking that Bastille is the crowd reliever this year, they are not headlining material but I'm sure that the girls that wants a good pop concert will stick around Arena at Thursday with both Bastille and Lykke Li.

So let's add these new bands to your prediction.

Hugo Mendez can easily be added to the Arena party, thus not really counting as one of the spots needing to be filled.

I think ATOMIC BOMB! will tak on Arena (or maybe Avalon) I think. Propably either friday or saturday as I see your predictions

THE MASTER MUSICIANS OF JAJOUKA should be playing thursday. They seem mostly like a gloria name, but could also take on avalon. There's only room for the opening act in your predictions, so maybe the opener is announced already (Bombus would be my guess then)?

Yes Bombus seems more likely than Lykke Li.

It will not be the first time a Swedish act is opening Roskilde, Petter did it back in 2009.

So I made a few changes.

Bombus is now moved to the opening spot at Orange, The Master Musicians then take their spot at Pavilion.

Atomic Bomb is placed on Friday because of the link to Damon Albarn.

Hogo Mendez is of course placed on Arena Sunday night
EMA is not announced by Roskilde yet but plays Sunday according to her website.
