Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I can see one problem with this, they are in Kansas the 28th of June and in Ottawa, Canada the 10th of July.

So unless they have no problems crossing the pond for a few gigs I don't see it happening.

I was dissapointed at how little interestig the posterrelease offered last year.
It seems like the posterrelease offers more quantity than quality, so that it doubles the number of announced names but not the number of interesting names. I'm hoping for interesting names, but I expect that they mostly will fill the holes in the lineup with safe or smaller bookings.

But if if my stage schedule guesses are right there will be 7 Orange stage names to be revealed and that's alot, but then only the smaller stages are missing names and I think that there will be less Junior/countdown names revealed than last year.

Again if my guesses are right there will only be around 10 names left to be announced if they only drop these names the next 2 weeks as they said in the news yesterday, 9 yesterday, 9 the 3rd and 9 the 10th leaving just 10 to be announced on the poster day.
I counted the number of Junior and Countdown concerts last year so the numbers should match.

Normally there are more than 10 junior names revealed on the poster if I'm not mistaken and last year all the countdown names was revealed that day (together with regular Apollo names) so there will be more established/interesting acts announced on the poster but not necessarily big names.

I have followed your stage schedule which is interesting, and except that I wondered if Crystal Castles could play Orange as a midnight electronic concert, I can't argue with the Orange list, and I hope you are right with additionl 7 bands for Orange, but I expect them to be smaller, safer bookings.

Safe bookings is the keyword, someone speculated in The Killers and I think they are right and so with Atoms For Peace and My Bloody Valentine.

Kashmir, Falluja (or what her name is) and perhaps Nephew is among the possible danish Orange Stage names.

I think the top of the poster will look similar to this on April 18th, with the bold names being the new announcements:

The Killers - Kraftwerk - The National - Frank Ocean - Queens of the Stone Age - Rihanna - Sigur Rós - Slipknot - Volbeat

Airbourne - Animal Collective - James Blake - The Bloody Beetroots - Tego Calderón - Crystal Castles - Dead Can Dance - The Dillinger Escape Plan - Disclosure - Dizzee Rascal - Efterklang - The Gaslight Anthem - Graveyard - Hatebreed - The Hives - Ben Howard - Kreator - Kvelertak - Kendrick Lamar - The Lumineers - Of Monsters and Men - Simian Mobile Disco

My guess is that if that we do get a band like The Rolling Stones, they would be announced later on by themselves like Roskilde did with Prince back in 2010. I also know that The Dillinger Escape Plan, Tego Calderón, Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men and Simian Mobile Disco aren't listed as subliners in the poster Roskilde put out on Facebook, but I would be very surprised if they ended up in the small print.

Why not? Has it been ruled out or is it just andreas' guesses you're commenting?

These are poster releases, that I wouldn't be impressed about. Other people might, but I can't see a single must-see band for me, although with most of the bands, I would have to check them out to be sure. But I can see a realistic releaseposter.
But there will also be band announcements done after the posterrelease, where there could be something interesting announced, f.ex a big headliner if RF still has money left (I don't see the current headliners being very expensive, even Rihanna is probably far cheaper than Bruce Springsteen). And I would expect really interesting bands having there own announcement (it would be highly unlikely that artists like Rihanna or Kraftwerk would be part of the posterrelease, since they themselves create so much interest).

That's exactly what I was saying. I really don't think Roskilde would announce a band like The Rolling Stones with the poster, simply because they would take away all the spotlight from the smaller bands released along with them. Just like Prince back in 2010.

As much as I would like them to come, I just don't see it.
They would have to start their tour with Roskilde and then go down south to France. That alone shouldn't be too big of a problem, but they're moving up north towards The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany after playing in Paris, and it would make for a fairly weird routing if they went back up there after already having been in the area when they played Roskilde. It's definitely still possible for them to play Roskilde (especially for the right price or a still-unannounced Scandinavian tour), and I'm sure the band is on Roskilde's radar, but I don't think we'll get them this year. Here's to hoping, though.

Hah, probably. But as I said, it is definitely possible that they will be booked, but the tour routing would just be a little weird:

Mac Miller took from Switzerland to Roskilde and back to Germany, or was it reverse.

Approximately 1-2 headliners left to announce. But who will it be? And maybe more interesting, who will subline the poster? There are still a lot of spots left down there.

Give us My Bloody Valentine on the top of the poster!

I´m willing to bet one crate of beer for Atoms For Peace coming... Anybody? icon_biggrin.gif

Atoms for Peace and a secret Radiohead gig on one of the smaller stages

A guy can dream eh?

edit: I've fucked the quotes up and I'm not sure how...
