2012 was my first Roskilde festival. It was truly amazing. I am coming back in 2013 but this time I would also like to attend at least one other festival. Does anyone have suggestions on what festivals in Europe are the most similar to Roskilde?

I can think of Glastonbury, Melt, Werchter, Bestival, Isle of Man Festival, Pinkpop, Tomorrowlands and Sziget.
In US of A you will find Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lolapallooza (in Chicago so probably more like Primavere) and Sasquatch.
But if you fancy some electronic music i can highly recommend Balaton sound, right at the beach and its always sunny with temperatures around 30-40.

ok..werchter and pinkpop are nothing compared to RF. It is too small too crowded and it's only for 3 till 4 days. no cool parties at the camping area.. ehmm and i can go on and on
Further just find out for yoursel Glastonbury is sold out.

Thanks Bongo and Eff. That list was pretty good. I have looked into most of them and Like Eef said, some seem quite short.
Since I am coming from the US, I am looking for festivals in Europe. As I can't stay for over a month, I think I will just do Benicassim which is next to Barcelona or Balaton Sound per your recommendation.
I just wished that there were two Roskilde fesvtivals per year
If you or anyone else have any further suggestions I would love to hear them.

Sonar is a city festival that favour electronic music. I am sure it can be great
But it is in no way like Roskilde.. I guess it is a fareaways as you can get from what you get at Roskilde
