  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I have only attended Roskilde in 07 and 08 but every year I have felt perfectly at home. My first year in 07 was, as I believe everyone is aware of, very rainy. On Wednesday, the day before the music started, I woke up and my wellies had been filled up with whiskey during the night. Great! So I had to wear my spare shoes - converse. They of course got soaked in no time and I catched a cold pretty fast. The next day I had a fever like never before. I don't remember how but I dragged myself to see the opening of Orange stage. I watched Volbeat and went right back to my tent to sleep. I listened to Killers and Björk from a distance. I called home and cried like a baby. I felt miserable. But then, something wonderfull happened. A guy ran past my tent and screamed: "We're only getting 3mm of rain tomorrow!!". I woke up the next morning and I had never felt better icon_smile.gif Had a great festival and I will keep coming till the day my zimmer frame can't be dragged through the mud anymore icon_biggrin.gif

Damn right!

My favorite moment is probably at the very end in '06. Me and my buddy met a bunch of girls we hung out with throughout the festival (one of the girls became my girlfriend, and still is).. After the last concerts on sunday we just sat in the campsite having the time of our lives... music, weed, beer...

But it's probably one of the saddest moments to... everybody started to leave one by one during the night and morning. Monday morning it was just me and my friend left, knowing we had to get our asses up and leave as well.

Great story.. But you have to ask your self: Do you honestly think it was whiskey which were filled in your wellies? icon_rolleyes.gif

I swear, it really was whiskey. For the ones who did it, I hope it was cheap whiskey so it was worth the laugh icon_rolleyes.gif

I think my best moment at Roskilde had to be being bitched at by Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden in front of 100,000 people on Orange Stage. I was standing in an open spot in the crowd by one of the speaker stands, with my at-that-time fancy japanese phone that could record sound (!). I was holding it up in the air, not exactly being discrete, and in between songs Bruce looks straight at me and says something along the lines of:

"Are you recording our music?! [don't remember what he said here] ... Well I'll tell you what, we're gonna play a song from our new album, and if you're gonna record it and send it out to allll your friends on the internet.... It's OK!"

Later on he told us to download the new album and buy it if it's good, and trash it if it's shit.

Massive respect for Bruce.

I was a few meters away from you then a little closer to the stage, I couldn't actually see who he was pointing at and talking to though.

I had the recording of what he told me between songs for a long time, but alas without the possibility of transferring it to my computer. The recordings of the actual songs turned out way too distorted anyway. No street-cred from the napster community : /

My best memory from Roskilde is from 2006, when me and my buddy had media passes and we were heading to the Sigur Rós concert (after a really, really late GnR). But since it was our first time, we didn´t know were to go, and suddenly we found ourselves on the "wrong side" of Arena. Of course, after realizing we had managed to get behind the stage, we had to find the backstage area. And there it was, a couple of meters from the artist entrance on the stage. A little area surrounded by a white fence. We got inside, and looked around. Candles were everywhere, and the atmosphere were really calm. But then, after looking around a little bit, we saw Jonsi from Sigur Rós. He was talking to some guys, and then he actually spotted us, two starstruck teenagers. He came over and said hello and we had a chat. He was a really nice guy, it wasn´t wierd at all. He joked, high-fived and offered us beer. He even taught us the Icelandic word for "cheers", skál (sic), big surpriseicon_smile.gif
After that episode we were the worlds happiest campers, because it isn´t everyday a kid like me back then meet one of my biggest heroes of all timeicon_biggrin.gif

My biggest moment, by far.

Death to knut!

I'd say Sigur Ros in '06 was the best experience I've ever encountered on Roskilde sofar, that and the Streets preformance in '08..

Both occations, I've shed tears :p

Yup. I waited 2½ hours to get in the front, and I was frontline right in the middle of the stage. I was one of the lucky ones to get some of the brandy they handed out from the stage during the song "Too Much Brandy".

Nice. I came with a few buddies one or two songs in, and we managed to fight our way to the front even though the Arena stage was more than filled. Had an amazing time and it was a great show. The show at Orange was ok as well, but usually all bands are better at smaller stages IMO.

I Think one of the musical experiences that i'll always remember er 1992 when Denmark had won the Eur.Champ in soccer and Nirvana came on. If ever there was a time when you could cut the Roskilde Feeling in slices that would have been it.

non-musical experience is pretty much every damn night roaming the campingsite and partycrashing.

Agreed, that was a special moment. Also, the Porno for pyros concert in 1993 was great, and so was Jeff Buckley in 1995 and Tool both times.

well last year was my first so i don't have a shit load of experience but here goes xD:

last year i was roaming the camping area with a friend around 2 in the morning when we saw this guy walking towards us. he stepped in a can right in front us and looked at it, then he looked at us, and then just started asking us if he could fuck the can, and asked if cans actually have the ability to fuck xD

music wise i would have to say anti-flag.. at the very end of the show this dude who had been standing next to me all of the sudden turned around and gave me this huge hug, then started yelling at me that it was one of the greatest experiences in his entire life! then we started running towards the merch stand where the lead singer was signing autographs and stuff! and the concert was grat too, the played with a shit load of intensity and ended up trashing everything icon_biggrin.gif

Ye, that anti-flag concert is a good memory for me too... I remember singing Fuck Police Brutality at the merch stand after the show.

Oooh, another experience. Some of you might share this one with me? 2007, spome of us weren't smart enough to bring actual tents but just those things that are basically a blanket on poles, which was obviously drenched by thursday - I had the mattress floating around on water in my tent - it kept the water in but not out! Luckily the kind people opened Astoria for those of us who had no where else, so I had to stay there friday. I was walking around friday night at P waiting for it to be late enough for me to get in and I was sitting on one of those things around the fireplace when I guy saw me, looked strange at me, and came over and stuck a french fry in my mouth muttering "you look hungry.." then proceeded to walk away!
Got into the Astoria around 4 and cuddled up in a corner with myself and my wellies after listening to 3 older guys talking about their mushroom trip:
G1: "phew.. massive trip"
G2: "so.. did you think some deep thoughts?
G1: "Yeah.."
G2: "about what?"
G1: "About beer... and boobs!"
G3: "I'm still stoned..."
HAHA! And offers from two finnish guys to come over and keep their sleeping bags warm. That was a weird night.

Last year was my first year.

I can't explain how good my final experiences of Roskilde where. It was coming up to the final gig at Orange on the last day, Jay Z. Me and a few friends got some food when it started raining. We were considering stealing one of the umbrellas at the food stand so that we wouldn't get that wet walking to our meeting point to meet our other friends before the gig.

Just as we started to attempt to remove the umbrella, I spotted a huge sheet of Tarp just lying on the floor. So me and my 2 friends ran and grabbed one side of it and just started running. We shouted for people to get out of the way, but everyone just went straight under the tarp.

We finally got to our meeting point, hooked the tarp up to one of the beer stands, and then all took a corner/side/whatever we could hold onto and loads of people started joining us.

It soon turned into a party with about 30 people underneath this tarp. It was so amazing. No one knew each other, we just all started partying!

Okay last year, sunday morning we were packing up our things.. Most people were already gone and the campsite looked very empty and totally trashed with tents and shit. We're packing up the tent when this guy comes walking along, huge beard and looking laid back (probably stoned). He says: "Heey beautiful people.. Aah man I really hope you had a great time here at Roskilde.... I sure did.... Man.. I love you guys." and then he just turned on the spot and walked away. icon_biggrin.gif
