Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

It's absolutely possible. And I doubt the festival will be sold out within a week, which is when i get paid. There was a bigger risk that the GaT would be sold out, since GaT-Central is allready long gone.

I've allways stayed in west, so this will be my first time on the east side. And first time in GaT. And first time all alone. Woah

icon_lol.gif I have to say I admire all you people going alone. Especially from out of country. That takes balls.

Same here - keep checking the forum all the time, have started thinking about what to pack and when and how to drive etc.

But: There are a few festivals to attend before RF, those will shorten the wait a lot. Wilwarin, here I come!

@TMaagard and Charlotte: went alone in 2001 - probably was my best year, simply met soooo many great people! - So since this forum may soon be gone: Let's meet at the chat and forum meeting - Thursday 13:00, west of the bridge near city centre west.

Thinking about it this thing about checking the forum all the time is a bit naff seeing as it's a pretty woeful platform and we haven't got that many users. Oh well, *F5*.

But now you mention it, I have NorthSide Festival in the middle of June which is going to be good I reckon.

I'll see if I can make it, although I usually try not to make too many planned activities beforehand so I can just go with the flow.

Yeah so cool when people are going alone, but I imagine Roskilde is the place where it's possible without feeling too lonely. I whent alone to Northe Sea Jazz Festival in Netherlands, and that was somewhat of a different festival experience. Would have prefered company!

@Tmaagaard How old are you guys since you have to move to J ? My camp is averaging 25 this year, but we were almost more crazy than people around us (though in West) last year icon_eek.gif. Not with stupid bigass monster sound-systems, but we still drink and go crazy / don't sleep most of the week.

I can't wait either. Have an exam tuesday, and I'm just refreshing this forum to see if there's new posts instead of reading.

Roskilde probably is the place to go alone if you have to, jazz I would imagine is a whole different ball game icon_smile.gif

Well, I think we're ranging from 21-26 if I'm honest with an average around 24, but we surely can't handle the war zone that is C. Some of our friends stayed there last year and absolutely hated living close to some of all those monster soundsystems. I much prefer walking to the party and then walk back home when I'm too tired/drunk. Last year we stayed in E and that was perfect, but it's a Clean Out Loud area this time around icon_frown.gif

Those sound systems are rubbish. Mostly because the music is so utterly bad, and have to play 24/7 even without a party.

We stayed in B last year, which I can reccomend. We aimed for C, but it didn't work out luckily! C looked like war compared to B, but we could still both go crazy and sleep when necessary.

It just seems so drastic to aim for silent before turning 30 icon_lol.gif

Haha well, I'm traveling from Oslo, Norway though. So it's neither far nor really that different icon_wink.gif And since i'm on my seventh year and 29 years old, I think there should be no problem for me being alone, or getting to know people. I know my way arround Roskilde by now icon_wink.gif

It's just awful. Why do they feel the need to blast out some shitty song non-stop after having spent a considerable amount of money building a big system?

On your recommendation I will tell my camp we could head for B. I think it's a bit early heading for J as well. icon_smile.gif

I have no qualms about going to concerts alone, but not having that safety of a camp to go back to and meet some familiar faces seems scary.
But as you say, you're a seasoned festival goer so will probably manage just fine icon_smile.gif

Festival ticket - check. Get A Tent ticket - Check. Airplane tickets - check. Now I just have to wait to start my alone-adventure. And buy a sleeping mattress.

We're official in preparation / countdown mode since last weekend (pavilion and festival clothes bought). Although I've been playing my Spotify playlist 8 hours a day since the major lineup announcement already.

Ohh that sounds bad, what happened?

I did choose my own working schedule on nemvagt so I hope it sticks, working until 17:00 Thursday and Sunday (don't care about missing one of the warm up bands hut in also working Tuesday and Wednesday) so if you see a fat bloke working as a guide on Roskilde train station is probably me.

Camp is not worked out yet, for now I'm staying at the restricted camping because some of my big brothers friend stays there but I'm also in talk with 2 guys from the Coachella message board that I have never meet in person but that makes it that more exciting.

I tested my tent last weekend because I have not put up a tent myself since Roskilde 07 thanks to GAT and I would not look like a baboon trying to put up my tent so its nice to have that in order.

Else I have everything in order, for now icon_biggrin.gif

Remember to check if the zip is working too. I spent the first night last year with an open tent. The wind was straight through the entrance as well.

I went to NorthSide last weekend and can't wait to get back to a festival.
