Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

That's the worst that can happen IMO. Even when you are in your tent, the scumbags will go in and help themselves to your property.

I am sorry it happened to you

Were you in your tent involuntarily? Or was the thief there involuntarily?
In which case, he may have been under mind-control by a Sith Lord...

I got my wallet lifted and emptied for cash while sleeping in my tent. Luckily they just threw the wallet outside the tent.

I'll see that and raise you 10 festivals and a bottle of cheap bourbon. Didn't want to be the party pooper, but yeah, almost two decades and only thing I lost was that bottle. And it was stolen by a hostile newcomer in my own camp. icon_razz.gif

Oh, and a wooden festival chair about 6 years ago.

I don't get why people bring their expensive smartphones /iPhones to the festival.

They require almost constant recharging anyway.

This year I lost an old iPod nano - Maybe it was stolen. I don't know and don't really care. I didn't really take care of it...

Maybe I am just lazy, I got my Google calendar sync whit my smartphone, same whit the numbers and so on, so I will have a lot of work moving shit to a old phone.. I take the chance and got a battery that I chance my phone whit... but yeah I get your point.

The one who stole my iPhone in my tent also emptied my wallet for cash, but left the wallet in my tent.

This happened in our camp:

  • First night 1 guy got his whole bag stolen with all his stuff.
  • 50% of the tents got broken into and had stuff like perfumes taken.
  • One of my friends got his tent cut open twice - they only stole stuff like a Gilette Shaver
  • Another got her tent cut open 3 times in 4 nights - lost a ladyshaver, boots, a bag with a jacket in. But they didnt take 2 phones and a camera.
  • We caught one guy and his girl friend searching through one of our tents - he got the 3500dkk fine for not having a wristband and a fine for stealing. He even tried to tell the guards that WE had cut off his wristband and then tried to escape.
  • I had my cardholder with my drivers licence, credit card etc stolen while I was sleeping on my airmattress wednesday afternoon in the shade
  • My friend and I caught 2 dudes going through tents in our neighbour camp - they had a bunch of excuses and took off.

This was the worst year ever for me and I doubt i'm ever going to live close to L again.

wow phaedras and all of this happened in L?? Thats pretty fucked up! Even people stealing while you sleep in the shade. I guess the need for clothing is high.or was IT expensive clothing?
Really think the rf people should do something about that!

Yup, we lived in L63, right next to the white dome.

We didnt have a lot of expensive stuff to steal, but having 2 of our tents cut open 5 times between them is extreme.

One time some of the guys from my camp yelled at some 'bodybuilder' types that was walking around looking inside our tents and they took off - they were to afraid to follow them as they were realyl big guys and the guards wouldnt have been able to do anything anyways..

No kevlar, not keviar. It's an old joke really. You make bulletproof west from kevlar so many think it'll do well against knives as well. In fact it won't, kevlar is just as easy to cut through as nylon.

Well, they do actually make stab-vests aswell from tightly woven nylon and kevlar, so both materials are able to widthstand bullets and knives, depending on how its woven and designed icon_wink.gif

But this is way off-topic, so sorry to the OP. But I do wish they could make tents out of a material that you couldn't cut open icon_smile.gif

Maybe a tent made of steel!! or you just ducttape your tent all over every single time you leave icon_smile.gif
Yep too bad that there isn't any solution for that.

What about a tent made of bricks? It may take a little while to pitch a tent like that, but I'm sure it would be safer against thieves. icon_wink.gif

Anyway, I wouldn't really suggest anyone attacking thieves. If they have something that they can use to cut open a tent then it is probably also able to cut through skin. But I still don't know if I could help it if I saw someone stealing from our camp. It really makes me mad that some people are so selfish.

I was sleeping in my tent, with the phone on my chest for five minutes. When I woke up my phone was gone. I don't see why I have to buy another phone, I wanna bring my own while at roskilde, since I've never lost my phone before, even when I'm shitfaced drunk.

Wow even then?? well i usually make a big chaos of my tent. so its hard to look for stuff.
But I mean even if you sleep for 5 min it's not safe!! that's pretty insane.
Don't know what they can do about it either..maybe patrol more in area's that are near fences.. and away from the tower maybe?? And before there was always a discussion about the can collecting people stealing as well.. dont know about that either. BUT..its pretty lame to steal someone's phone.

I did once got ripped after taking care of my stuff at RF.. happy being back home in The Netherlands.. i was dead tired trying to buy myself a train ticket home.
And then... they ripped my wallet.. and saw my code. So they stole like 1500 euros from my account. tss
