Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
    With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
    If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
    It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I would absolutely love it! Best live act that I have seen at Roskilde (well, almost)

But I can almost guarantee they are not on the radar for RF icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

How so? He has headlined Roskilde before and is arguably the biggest world name, they could book. We all know that corner of the festival programme is a dear one to RF.

Yes, I know all that- but he is not hip and cool anymore and he plays rock and reggae etc which isn't the festivals top priority anymore.

Massive Attack would come if Bjork can't make it... They're good people, and one of the best live bands out there.

Caribou are also an amazing live band, mind-blowing, and could fit the bill as a headliner, they're touring with Radiohead, and like them, will also be free on the 8th;

Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou in particular would MORE than make up for Bjork. Foo Fighters not required.

So a band that play warm up gigs for Radiohead is considered a headliner

Actually wasn't acquainted much with Caribou. It's really nice, cheers.

But as a headliner??? We are advocating warm up bands to headline now?
Todays WTF moment right here

As much as you obviously don't rate Foo Fighters, the same probably goes for Radiohead with a lot of people. Me included

Caribou when spelt Karibu means "welcome" in swahili btw- just a little digression icon_wink.gif

Yes Bongo and Suarez! That's why Caribou were headlining Primavera 2011...! Get with the times dudes! icon_smile.gif

Also, I don't massively rate Foo Fighters, only because they haven't done anything massively interesting in quite a while, and are trodding the same road over and over, musically & lyrically speaking.

Also, while I like Radiohead, and prefer their electronic stuff, they did bore me when they played Roskilde 2008.

Even if they were a headliner it was only on a (big) niche festival, at Roskilde I barely see them as subliners.

Caribou is touring from the 2. to the 15. of July non-stop - except for the saturday of Roskilde, so I'm really hoping to see him as one of the last 15 acts. He's absolutely amazing and i would love to see him playing with a live band!

And btw - Is Björk out for real?

So far Bjørk out is not for real. She has cancelled a few concerts, but expects to be ready by mid-june, so she expects to play at Roskilde.

...at Roskilde I barely see them as subliners.

...despite there only being 1 or possibly 2, real headliners...? Springsteen and Bjork are the only real 'headliners' on the bill. And one of those two may still not yet play. The Cure, as great a live band as they are, are a touring act, who don't do much anymore.

The Roots is as much a headliner for hip-hop fans, as Caribou/M83 would be for electronic fans, as Behemoth would be for metal fans, as Bon Iver would be for alternative fans, as Kalkenbrenner would be for dance fans.

This year, is a bill full of subliners and unknowns man.....

And your solution is to put a band who can't even headline a smallish festival in Spain?

I never said that.

What I said was, that if Bjork were to cancel, then she could be replaced by a combination of 3 bands - Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou - all three are her peers, and in combination, would more than make up for Bjork if she were to cancel.

This is all I've ever said.

Also, Primavera is larger than Roskilde, sorry to burst your bubble, but that is fact. More people go to Primavera.

Primavera = 100,000+
Roskilde = 65,000 / 70,000+

And I don't see why you're saying Caribou 'can't even headline a smallish festival', because they did headline a larger festival, Primavera, along with 20 bands of a similar stature.

I fail to see 20 bands on the Roskilde bill who are of a similar stature. Less than 10 in fact. I remember a couple of years ago, there would easily be 20 prominent bands on Roskilde's bill. Less and less every year, sad but true.

You're in denial kid. And on top of all of this, you've also twisted my words. You're so righteous! icon_lol.gif

Excuse me. Primavera Sound is about 40000 people/day which is like half of the people that come to Roskilde per day. I go to primavera every year, so I know what i'm talking about icon_wink.gif
