Quick guide for the search
- Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
- Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
- Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I have written about these guys here already: http://roskilde-festival.dk/forum/mm_forum_pi1/posts/music_in_general/classic_rockhard_rock_thread/page/3/#pid60391 but I think it deserves a thread of its own. Black Box Revelation Totally 100% awesome rock n roll. I'll let the music speak for itself. To be played loud. No, I said LOUD! But: Can you say early Oasis? White Stripes? Kick ass music? If you can say yes, say Black Box Revelation! They are playing Hurricane and Rock Werchter and seems to be available on the 6th and the 8th during Roskilde. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZzknLiIFho&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYFL4l73lwc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBA2vBFgCgc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPeEvqXjgyw&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5llv4aKUnY&feature=relmfu This is exactly the kind of band that should play Roskilde before they get huge: Ergo 2012! Quite a revelation indeed this band A little extra bonus for you guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1enimn3YS-c&feature=relmfu What do you guys think? Definitely something that would make the lineup stronger in my opinion in terms of the lack of pure rock n roll [This article was edited 1 times, at last 11.05.2012 at 17:06.] |

I like them, although they're a little too generic. There's an abundance of two-man garage rock'n'roll combos out there, and these aren't the most original ones in the set. But they've got balls, I'll give them that. You may want to check out Middle Class Rut. Sounds like a two-man RATM at times, at other very much like Black Box Revelation. |

I've never understood this generic thing at all. All music is influenced by someone else- that's how it always has been and how it will always be. Then, off course, some bands comes up with something that sounds really fresh and new like RATM, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and, if they are good they will go even further than most other bands. But even those bands picked from here and there and put it together. Black Box Revelations doesn't sound like copycats at all to me- you can hear their influences, but it's nothing you can point your fingers at and say "this, this and this is taken from that, that and that". In fact; if we want to make a case for these discussions I would say that Middle Class Rut, as you rightfully recommend as they are quite good, you can easily hear their influences and I would say they sound a lot more like Jane's Addiction than anything else. That's just good though- because they are inspired by great music and they know how to turn their influences into great music of their own. That's how it should be for me. Bands who try too much to be original is often trying too hard, and more concerned about selling music than creating genuinely good music that they enjoy playing. What Black Box Revelation, to me, does better than most (and I don't care if they are two musicians or a hundred) is making great songs with really good chorus', their sound is tight and raw and they are good musicians. So a vote for Black Box Revelation is not a vote for change, it's a vote for the good old traditions! Don't vote for change, vote for Black Box Revelations! And to sign off: This song is, for me, a great example of how to almost rip someone off and then make a great song of their own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lClQNHjFSFc&feature=related [This article was edited 5 times, at last 14.05.2012 at 16:46.] |

Well dont you ever get that feeling that if something is just a blatant ripoff see:jet, coldplay youd just much rather listen to their influences? Read my post above. All bands borrows. Obviously if it is a ripp off that sounds like a copy I would not listen to it, but many people have taken peoples' ideas and twisted it and made it theirs. Led Zeppelin for example [This article was edited 1 times, at last 14.05.2012 at 21:01.] |

New Low kics ass xD They were really cool live and yea Black Box sound like they could be cool for Roskilde but Im hoping they will add an awesome band called Crash Kings. They were insanely good live at the local music festival - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx1Gl-rmk6A also mountain man is really good - http://youtu.be/vcTlbi-dCjI [This article was edited 2 times, at last 31.05.2012 at 04:21.] |
