Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

This topic is overflowing with wishes for bands with little or no basis in reality. So let's get the low down on the bands that actually probable.

Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. The surprise and welcome reunion concerts naturally have raised expectations about them coming to Roskilde.

Horrorpops/Nekromantix. The Danish psychobilly legends and the new line-up could be very probable for a double gig on Roskilde next.

Iron Maiden is rumoured to be in the studio for a new album release next year. They're always fond of playing in scandinavia as a whole so they could well be headlining next year again.

Megadeth seems to be on a neverending world tour bringing them back and forth around the world. Maybe they swing by Europe again during the summer next year?

Fingers crossed for all the above.

I believe Iron Maiden is going to play next year. They're doing a big tour next year, and they've said that they're going to do festivals in the summer.

The only really expensive band you mentioned is Iron Maiden. A lot have changed and they're quite expensive compared to 2003. But the rest is 100% possible and should be booked!

Psychobilly, thrash, rock n roll and endless decadence icon_biggrin.gif

Rammstein: Arena-touring this winther with "Liebe ist für alle da" in 09 and 10, maybe they will continue touring in the summertime at fesivals around EU

Kiss: just released Sonic Boom and the reviewers here in Denmark loved the new album - thier first in 11 years! Maybe a EU-tour in 2010 to promote their new album??

Megadeth: Will soon begin their Endgame Tour in the States. Maybe an EU summertour in 2010?? Many in here have voted for them!

Mark Knopfler has already put out dates for next years summer. Apperantly its only one possible date available for him to attend Roskilde, 01/07. http://www.mark-knopfler-news.co.uk/frameset.html

Would be nice to have him for next year, but I guess its very small chances for having him since he is playing in Middelfart 11/06.

Well its pretty hard to ee possibilities this far forward, but i suppose that any band releasing an album or planning a Euro/World tour is possible! Like Iron Maiden, Kiss, Megadeth etc... Oh and Rammstein of course since they already have been announced for another festival nearby Roskilde (Rock Am Ring).

Saturnus is a band that is hard to figure out. Although undoubtedly among the best doom metal bands in the world, if not the best, and their last performance was at Roskilde '97, 2 masterful full length albums ago (maybe 3 next year). About time Roskilde rebook these guys.

Konkhra is perhaps one of the most legendary Danish metal bands ever, and I was astounded that with a new album release earlier this year that they weren't booked for Roskilde, which they, like Saturnus, played last in '97. I hope this blatant oversight by the Roskilde bookers get corrected next year.

Panzerchrist is a mythical band in danish metal circuits as they, even though having existed since the early '90s and have several full length albums out, have never performed live. They are rumoured to be auditioning a back-up drummer so they can go live next year. I hope that is true, and I hope that if those rumours hold true, they will come to Roskilde. (Listen to the music and you'll know why they need a backup drummer).

Ac/Dc is actually also a big rumor, Brian Johnson said in an interview that they had been offered some festivals next year... Roskilde should be a great possibility, as Brian´s wife attends the festival every year icon_wink.gif

It's also been shot down repeatedly unfortunately. The Young brothers will not play festivals at all, so regardless of Johnson's personal wishes that is a dead duck.

Pete Doherty has announced that The Libertines will reunite and play festival gigs in the summer of 2010. Even though he played solo this year, The Libertines would be totally amazing and completely different thing.

"In an interview in the NME published on 19 August 2009, Doherty promised that The Libertines would reunite and headline festivals in 2010, joking that if Barât did not agree to the reunion he would place an ad in the paper for a Barât look-alike." [from wikipedia article]
