Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

My line-up:

Oldie: Rodger Waters
Rock: Muse
Rock: The Offspring/RATM
Rock: Stokes/Artic Monkeys
Electronic: Daft Punk
Hiphop: No idea (Kid cudi could be a fresh act, but maybe not big enoigth )
Pop: Robbie Williams

Sub: Editors, Phoenix, Dizzy, Kashmir, Kent, Grizzly Bear, Wolfmother, and on needs some metal

I'd go with that. And put Wu-Tang at the hiphop headliner, but don't know if they will headline without the mighty ol dirty (rest in peace).
Eminem would be fun actually.
And get Method & Red, their show at Vega was crazy. And please bring R.A The Rugged Man to the Cosmopol!

Well I guess wu-tang would be okay and they re indeed still a headliner...but imo they re over the hill and they have been on the poster before
Eminem would be fun, but I dont feel like he would fit in.

The hiphop-headline is not obvious:
Eminem, Kanye, Jay-z, 50 cent, Snoop, the game all (sorry) quite boooring!

Maybe a year without a major hiphop-act would create room for moore rock n roll icon_cool.gif

They should get Run DMC or none at all.. 2-3 hiphop-subs would be good instead.. Like before 2004

can you guys tell me why you dont like hiphop?

i just would like to know, i have been wondering why people can judge an entire scene of music based on 3-10 mainstream artists.

Ye, like so many people have all metal bands in their line-up suggestions!!
Hip-Hop is insane!!!

Naaa, I think people are forgetting about Drake and his Young Money label. Also Lil Wayne is worth watching for the bass he has live

That, and I don't recognize the talent. Bitches and bling gets real old, real fast. I know not all hiphop is about that, but then about some other form of pretentious shit, like how much better current track is than some other equally pretentious shit.

Also I don't like the entire subculture. Speaking like a twat and wearing Fuck U Buy Us doesn't make you cool. Seriously.

I could go on.

I can't state how wrong you are. If you listen to artists such as Kanye, Drake , and so forth there lyrics arn't to do with any of the stereotypical stuff.I also love it how you feel that everyone is involved in the rappers subculture if you listen to that genre of music

Deleted user Hahaha that's got to be a first. People who like hiphop often get offended and surprised when I mention that I don't like the entire genre, but no one has ever told me to listen to Kanye as if he's represents some mysterious proportion of hiphop that doesn't suck.

Also don't twist my words please, not everyone that listens to hiphop is a twat. But it does generate quite a few.

And lets not forget the most important point here is that it sounds like shit! They call it a genre for a reason: It all sounds very similar. And lame.

Do keep suggesting more names for me to ignore though.

I am not full of prejudice (spelling?) but when I by accident turn on MTV or Boogie (danish mainstream shit music program) and watch whoever hiphop or r´n´b act are on, I just click away really fast. I just cant connect to -or "feel" the music at all!

If the texts are all about bitches and bling as someone else put it, I am lost allready. When I see the videos of "hoes" shakin´them booties I tend to laugh and ask myself: Why the fuck does anyone listen to that sexistic, degrading, homophobic trash talking shit of an excuse for being music??...right.

Wow! My opinion of you just seriously dropped by miles.

There are so many great hip hop acts out there, with very good lyrics and social awareness. In fact; real hip hopers look down upon those people you lable hip hop.

Lame opion. No offence really, just felt like saying.

the problem with hip-hop acts headlining at the moment is that you'll have to bring in a mainstream artist for the act to be headline-size.

there are loads of good hip-hop acts out there, but not loads of good (very) popular hip-hop acts.
I love acts like Atmosphere and Mos Def, but there's no way they're even close to headline size..

The only two possible hip-hop headlining acts i'd want on the poster this year are eminem and run dmc

Then there are a few acts i'd consider headline size but I really don't want on the poster:
Jay-Z (never really liked it), 50 Cent (actually more like pop), Kanye West (I liked his show last year, but two years in a row? no!), Wu-Tang Clan (just kinda outdated) ... not sure if i can see any other acts headlining

I guess Im prejudice.. Because in my point of view, anyone who can sit down and enjoy or even try to defend the rediculous antics of Lil Wayne is a seriously stupid sonofabitch..

The freakin phenomenon that him and all his brainless clones need to sound like Cher's tremendously bad autotune-comeback with plastic-synths and horrifying stupid and simplistic lyrics (partying, jewlery, women and "look at me, look at me".. come on!?) make me cringe like nothing else can..

I'll say it once and no more - THAT - IS - NOT - HIPHOP.. Idiots!

And now this retarded excuse of a midget LilWayne need to do to rock what he did to hiphop!?!? Fuck off please!!

Roskilde - if you read this - no more bullshit.. This is not only ridiculously bad, but not even music - only background noise intended for people not capable of having an opinion about real music..

Propably alot of misspelled words in here, but I just needed to say this - fast

EDIT

And if you dont agree, I hate you

It really seems that there's something about liking hiphop that makes you get all "in yo' face". Just saying.

I have good reason not to like the entire genre - because I've never heard anything that appeals to me. If I were to (which btw I'm not going to put in an effort into) then I'd change my mind.

Yes I have heard it.. I worked at a teens clothing-store for 3 years with a boss who apparantly had no brains, so yes.. I have heard every single Lil Wayne song imaginable.. Dr. Carter is no excuse to his suckyness..

Let me see:

"Ok.Let me put my gloves on and my scrubs on.
Dr.Carter to the rescue. Excuse me if I'm late,
but like a thief it takes time to be this great.
Ha! so just wait. Your style is a disgrace,
your rhymes are fifth place and im just grace.
One, Uno, Ace and im tryin to make your heart beat like bass,
but your sweet like cake and i come to fix
whatever you shall break. Where is your originality?
You are so fake and picture me like a gallery.
Capture What i say. All i need is one mic. All i need is one take.
Like hey, brighter then the suns rays got a pistols on the playground.
Watch the gunplay like.No kidding. No kids in the way,
but the kids do watch. Gotta Watch what we say. Gotta work everyday.
Gotta not be Cliche.
Gotta stand out like Andre 3K.
Gotta kick it like a sensai.
You gotta have faith you gotta gotta wait wait.."

Where is the standout!? Not very good rhymes, and its basically only about "look at me, im better than you" - and if you HAVE to do such lyrics, he could even have the decency to come up with clever lines.. But nothing! Even the beat is painfully annoying, with Disney-cartoon voices that should have died alonside Kanye West's non-computer-generated vocals. So if you think this is his finest work, I stand on my opinion.

I guess it's more about the fact most of the hip hop reaching the masses is made by ball-less, soulless, spiritless, corporate bitches and suckers of satans cock. It's like trying to convince someone who have just heard Limp Bizkit and HIM, and therefore hate metal, that they should give it another go.

It's mainly because people are extremely prejudiced about hip hop, because they think that whatever happens to play on the radio or on TV is GOOD hip hop. It's (most of the time) not. Techno and Metal don't get played on the radio at all, so I think we can all agree that disliking hip hop is a part of disliking popular music generally? It's not so much the grooves as it is the image the rappers project right? Lil Wayne looks like an obnoxious little bitch, he raps like one too - so ofcourse you're going to knock it! Hip hop is extremely image-orientated, much like metal and if you don't dig the attitude there's a good chance you won't like the scene or the music.. But hey, that's okay. Just don't tell me that it sounds like shit.

This is P.O.S feat Dessa and Cecil Otter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL5Wh4gnzyo

These lines are written by Dessa - a female rapper.

"It's flight of the salesman, death of the bumblebee
Nothing left for the attorneys and the tumbleweeds
They say that God's on the right, so goes the rhetoric
But I think that cross is like a kite that left a skeleton
And I think that Russell was right, but that's irrelevant friend
For all I know there'll be nothing left to defend tomorrow
Sugar in the gas tank, nothing in the cashbox
Thought that we were so sick, looking like it's smallpox
The bullets are still on the shelves
But when the armory empties, we're melting down the bells"

It's a song about war, the depression, injustice - good and important issues. Not women. Not hoes. Not dollars. Not bling. Not cars og cribs.

This is good hip hop. I could go on and on, and on and on. You just don't WANT to like it. And i've been there. But until you get out of your shell, you can drop being cross about being confronted with your ignorance.

Yes the old orange stage was their tour-tent before Leif bought it in 1978! the old orange tent was substituted in 1984 and once again in 2001!
