Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I see nothing wrong with changing your username if you so desire. Just annoying that the forum doesn't have a tracker that shows formerly used usernames in the profile but I digress, this forum is never going to be more than a half-arsed attempt at creating a real forum and a real community like there was on the old forum.

I strongly disagree with everything you say! Lets talk about it icon_biggrin.gif

But seriously: I can't for the life of me not understand why the hell the festival can't fork out the little money it would take to have someone do this forum better. There is so much potential.

We can't even embed videos and such. It's a bit pathetic.

It was much better in the 90's

Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros is probably an option on sunday.

Plays in belgium thursday, Holland friday, Germany saturday and then France on monday. They have no other announced concerts in Denmark.

But will they play five days in a row? (and would we want to see a band that has played the last three days and traveled across the continent?)

...I would like to see them though, if they have the energy to pull of a show icon_smile.gif

It would seem unlikely. The concerts they're playing around the time of Roskilde, are all located fairly close to each other. From Cologne (gig on 7th) to Paris (gig on 9th) is not a very big trip, but a detour to Roskilde on the 8th would definitely give them a whole lot of more travel time.

Red Hot Chili Peppers would also seem unlikely. It's highly doubtful they'll play the 6th, in between gigs on the 5th in Milan and the 7th in Madrid. And if Björk is already booked to play the Sunday, she will probably be the closing act Sunday night. This would give them a Sunday afternoon spot if booked. Now I'm not sure what time they're playing on the 7th in Madrid, but if it's a night time gig, followed by a not-so-small flight to play Roskilde on the 8th in the afternoon... I just don't think Roskilde would want to risk that, considering how they shaped up last time they had a busy schedule around Roskilde. Anyone who was there that night would know, that we don't want anything like that to happen.

Now that sounds amazing!

Anywhere I can find a compilation of Q&A's from that session? Or is there anyone who was there, who can post some of the biggest/most important answers?

I think the link on this page is for the streaming of the pressrelease. I asked for it earlier in another thread, but according to the responses in that thread it's not worth seeing, since she does not say anything interesting. Soundvenue also had a question and answer session with her, but it wasn't that infomative either, because Rikke usually has some very cautious answers to the questions, which you really can't conclude much from and because people mainly just asked about why she was not booking their favouriteband instead of generally informative questions.
She said though that they do want to book 'Daft Punk' and 'Rage against machine' if they get the possibility, but they didn't this year. Which might be her most interesting statement, since it implies that there are a few big headliners, which they are always looking for.

The latter two it won't be. They're playing another major Danish festival and they only share headliners if it cannot be avoided by any means. Death Cab for Cutie are touring USA during Roskilde. Franz Ferdinand is the only viable one of the bands you mention.

The last two shouldn't be headliners at Roskilde though. Subliners both of them.

Right you are, but I think Northside sees them as definite headliners. They won't share theirs, that's for sure. If they were to play Roskilde, they'd probably subline, like you say. Malk de Koijn is basically all over Denmark this summer.

I was at the press conference, and as far as I remember, it was in the second round that a boy asked if RHCP would come. Rikke said that they would not come this year, but she was definately not turning them completely down for the forthcoming years.

Disappears (With Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth on drums) tours with Lee Ranaldo both before and after Roskilde. Would be stupid not to book them. Especially since they have made a really great album this year.

By when should these last 15 be announced? We're no closer to guessing any of them here... I bet we'll only have heard of about two of them anyway.

I'm thinking that you have a point because last year the final band was announced around 1st of June so that will give 3 announcements with 4 names in the first two announcements and the final with 7 names on Wednesday may 30rd.
The final announcement last year with Portishead, MCR and Kaisers Orkester had 6 names if I'm not mistaken.

They could also do 3 smaller announcement with each containing 3 names also starting next week and then have a big one on the first of June with 6 names.

I should know better! I've paid attention every year... I guess they've usually confirmed everything by the end of May. So we should know over the next few weeks. Preferably tomorrow though. I like tomorrow. Can we bring the festival forward to tomorrow?

Last year they announced;

4 acts on 11.05.11
4 acts on 18.05.11
6 acts on 01.06.11

So we could be looking at more announcements tomorrow!
