Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

When Aleg ask for a teaser on facebook the respons from the festival was:

Roskilde Festival: Yes, no teasers this time around. You wouldn't guess them anyways icon_razz.gif

Sounds like something not to look forward to.

Just the fact that they seem proud of serving up yet another completely unknown after this long (disclaimer: if we have understood it correctly)

be optimistic... maybe its just because the announcement is so phenomenal that we would never expect it http://www.world-of-smilies.com/wos_musik/00000404.gif

Or maybe it was directed towards me, because the last time they had a teaser for metal, I figured it out pretty quickly - the smiley in the end could indicate something like that..

That's alright, I try to talk about the subjects and not the posters. Before they start talking about me that is. But as I've previously said- I don't mind stalkers as long as they don't cross a line between funny and pathetic icon_wink.gif

I´ve got already too many bands on my want-to-see list, so more mediocre electronic acts which I can skip suits me fine. Unless there´s Paul Simon of course..

I was dissapointed with release with three unknown (for me) names and none of them interesting for me.

So I still think there must be something good left, and I would expect two more release announcements.
They should include a headliner, since they only have 7 headliners so far and seem to want 8 headliners for the poster (and a band like Machine head could have been a headliner, when Mastodon was last year). I would expect it to be a rock headliner (maybe hard rock).
Also a pair of solid subliners should be announced.

I don't have any specific band guesses.

At the press meeting one of the books told me (and Aleg-one and Weiss) that they did not expect to book more headline, but we might get som subs.. now we got one sub in Dr. John, so think we will get 1-2 more there, but think most will be small names.. so think it is best to hope for some (hard)rock we might not know, but maby will love icon_smile.gif

The answer to that prayer might be Cold Chisel, Australia's immensely cool rock'n'roll legends.

The stars are all lined up: They have just released a great new album and are coming to Europe for the first time in 30 years to play some major gigs in the UK in the week after RF. AND they fit perfectly into this years line-up between Bruce Springsteen and Dr. John.

Here's a few samples:

Bow River (incredible early 80's live version):

When The War Is Over (much-covered power ballad by CC drummer Steve Prestwich who passed away last year):

Get Back On the Road (with Charley Drayton doing a great job filling in for Prestwich):

Last night I dreamt that Psyched Up Janis was going to play, so I'm hoping that'll come true, and that At the Drive-In will play too.

It's back in 2005 since their last visit and their tourplan is open the entire festival!

If Blood Red Shoes isn't one of them, they'll be missing out on a cheap and brilliant up and coming rock act for the 4th year in a row (they've been on tour and had open slots during Roskilde for all this time). It's almost unforgiving if they're missing out on them once again.

No new bands this week, because of the announcement of Orange-opener thursday.

We seriously need one/two big bands on that poster in this run-up.

Is it jut me or do we need one headliner?

Any chance that Disturbed gets added as the hard rock final headliner?? I do believe that they will be in Europe during Roskilde... t'would be an epic addition and appeal to the heavy metal sect and those that want another big name. What say you?

Within their genre, I'd say they'll fit in quite nicely. But not as a headliner icon_smile.gif Machine Head headlines over Disturbed any time, if you ask me.

Is it just me or do we need one headliner?

5 good subliners would be better than 1 good headliner, IMO. Better value for money.

However, it seems they've mentioned there'll be no more headliners, just one or two potentially nice surprises, depending on your taste in/knowledge of music.

Doesn't bode too well, no point getting hopes up for anything else.

I think they owe us a wellknown (hard)rock band still. So far the heaviest headliner is probably Jack White (which definately can't be considered heavy). Hopefully the bookers was just being cautious, when they stated that they didn't expect more headliners. last year they hadn't promised any headliners either, when they announced Portishead. (I'm still hopingicon_eek.gif).
