Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

If heavy is the teaser meant, it could match millions of bands.

I was just about to bring this thread back up. Here's the picture posted by RF:

I haven't got a clue. Maybe something to do with the fonts as well?

I have no F'ing idea.

Me neither, damn difficult one...

Here's all the letters together, if it makes any sense to someone - I even counted the reccurence, but still no clue

Edit: Found 1304 anagrams for the 'SKA EMIR ARMY' line, but haven't recognized any bands so far :b

I did such a search as well for all of them. Same results as you. A friend of mine suggested on the Facebook page that synonyms might be in play.

I was thinking of the fonts.

If you run them in whatdafont you get these font names:

1: -
2: Zubilo
3: Superglue

First one could be Malcolm McCormick, as 'Jesus Krister' said on Facebook - sounds plausible to me.
Not sure all of the lines are scrambled letters though.

Last one could be Dominique Clark AKA Dominique Young Unique. She played at Sonar in Spain and Slottsfjell in Norway last summer.

If that's correct, there's a pattern. Both Dominique Young Unique and Mac Miller are american rappers and the anagrams are for their real names, not their artist aliases.

There's definitely a pattern here. And the second one is Rakim Mayers AKA A$AP Rocky.

Mac Millers tour plan ends just before Roskilde in Amsterdam. He is on other summer festivals and are apparently Pittsburgh home boy with one of the Roskilde rappers already added.
Would love to see him at Roskilde.

It´s gonna be some southern metal tomorrow. Don´t know how many bands we´re talking about, but I´m guessing Red Fang (already self-confirmed) and Weedeater (playing Helsinki on the 9th). Still hoping for Jack White..

Nr. 1 seems to be Crowbar. The logo matches the visible spots in the teaser.
Nr. 2 is definitely Red Fang (FUCK YEAH!!)
Nr. 3 seems be Baroness because we see a glimpse of a B and a S.
Nr. 4 could be Shinedown. At the bottom of the first letter it's exactly the same as Shinedown's S. And they sometimes have shades of birds flying around their logo, and I think I can spot some small wings on top of their logo in the teaser.
Nr. 5.. I have no idea.
Very excited about this!

EDIT: No nr. 4 i definitely Weedeater

Can't get anything from the audiosnippet but I have some guesses based on likes on facebook and some other stuff..

Dead Skeletons - 6.000 likes, Iceland. There's also a mention of Roskilde here as Cold has mentioned earlier http://mbl.is/folk/frettir/2012/03/14/kraumur_uthlutar_yfir_11_milljonum/

Niki & The Dove - 17.248, Sweden

Katzenjammer - 62.962, Norway

D-A-D - 5739, Denmark. Could be a lot of bands, since many bands have around 5000 likes, but I think it could be D-A-D since it would be a huge surprise, when headliner-material only has 5000 likes on facebook. Roskilde stated that they had given this teaser a lot of thoughts, and a band like D-A-D would be totally unexpected. A band like D-A-D usually has a lot more likes, but their page is so damn hard to find when searching for it, which would make the solving of this teaser even harder. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, I don't know..

But 5739 likes is closer to 6000 than 5000. It wouldn't make any sens, unless Dead Skeletons is wrong. As some has pointed out, one of their tracks, 'Dead Mantra' is clearly in the sample Roskilde provided. I'm more inclined to believe in TMaagaard's guess, Sort Sol, even though I don't think they're touring after last year's exhaustive trek across Denmark.

I don't think it's Sort Sol. The Roskilde-admin on facebook said that the 'like-count' is from the bands official facebook, and Sort Sol doesn't have that.. only a page that leads to a Wikipedia page
