  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

its about a guy who knows a booker, that say that they are still "speaking" with Faith No More and Janes addiction and a bigger rock band that will blow people backwards, he couldnt get the last bands name, but he thinks that theyre tour ends the 30rd of june.

This sound promising if its true.

Not to prolong the rumours, buy once again i have been told by a booker, that they are still Negotiating with FNM, Jane's Addiction and a greater rockband, which will blow our minds. He couldn't get the last bands name, but he thinks their tour ends the 30th of June.

I don't believe that they are still negotiating with Jane's Addiction, because they have already confirmed on their tour calendar that they are coming to Roskilde.

ahh ok. Do we take it with a pinch of salt though? I haven't really been involved with forums before but presumably posters like this are usually taking people for a ride for what ever reason (ticket sale interest and attention seeking are 2 reasons that come to mind). Would be nice if it's honest.. icon_wink.gif

These are the bands I've been waiting for... the last rock band could be The Pixies or Sonic Youth, don't really know of any other that is available and will blow our minds.

ofcourse, it could be one looking for some fun and wanting to start a rumour, but on the other hand you never know, so i just wanted to share this with you guys, but no one seems to really matter when this is being written(this is the second time) even though everyone "complains" about Faith No More not being on the poster.

it should atleast be a discussed thing, and i actually believe in it.

theres still 20 bands to be announced and wasnt there the last two years something big announced after the big release?

The thing is, in the last 5 years or so, these people who claim to know the bookers start these rumors around these forums. So far, they haven't been true. Don't want to stereotype everyone who claims to know the bookers, but it's hard to believe in, when one has been so thoroughly disappointed for so many years when it comes to this. I'm really hoping this person is speaking the truth, but do I believe it is the truth? Not really. But there's room for a little hope in my heart. Hehe.

Yeah for sure. Definitely something that should be discussed...I am probably more sceptical because of the room left on the headline bill more than anything.

Hmmm, one could hope this is true.

But I suspect Grace Jones, Lucina Williams, Mew, Trentemöller and Nick Cave and TBS ate up that budget that was actually left.

Janes Addiction and Faith No More are probably headliner-material and there are 8 names among the headliners so far. If they're booked as subheadliners I'm just overjoyed. That would be an EXTREME booking. But how likely is it that they would be booked as subheadliners??? icon_rolleyes.gif

I hope the rumour you have heard is true or at least a bit true.

The big rock band could be Heaven & Hell. Their tour ends June 30th (even though they're so playing Wacken in August I believe).

I've also heard rumours (from a friend who who's somebody with contacts in the music business - yes far out) that Dave Matthews Band have been negotiating.

Jane's Addiction would definitely be a semi-headliner and Faith No More a headliner. Since Roskilde from one time to another has had 9 headliners, there is a slim possibility they'll add one more. The semi-headliners will probably get 2-3 more bands this year.

I don't think they'll do that... Pet Shop Boys are really really big and there is a lot of hype about the Trentemøller concert, being the biggest dance-party and all... would be nice if they replaced pet shop boys with something decent though icon_wink.gif

I agree there will be hype around the Trentemøller concert. That is, GIVEN he is playing, a big crowd will attend the show - I will also be going myself. But when you think about it, it is somewhat ridiculous to post him as a headliner.

The ONE "bigger" rock band that finishes their european tour the 30th of june and would blow our minds is obviously AC/DC, which makes this rumor a bit unbelievable with all the headliners we already have there won't be enough money for FNM AND this "bigger" rock band.

but, as we all know, hope dies last... i have not given up. not believing but hoping banghead.gif

I don´t really believe in the AC/DC possibility, although it would be cool, I´d still prefer Janes, FNM or Dave Matthews, in that order, more or less.

Anyway, about the financial aspect: danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet mentioned that RF has a music budget of 34 million kroner, divided by roughly 170, that gives 200.000 per act. Obviously some acts are a lot more expensive, but many are a lot less than that, I´d say. Anyone here have any knowledge into booking, that could share a light on what prices we are looking at here? Is Janes a band that would cost a million, 2 million or only 500.000? How about AC/DC? Are they like 2+ millions?

I doubt that AC/DC would play for less than 2 million ... euros ... and yes, that is a serious guess.

Wow! icon_eek.gif

Why do they bother, after doing 3-4 or four concerts, then? icon_lol.gif
