I'm no expert, but having done stage work, bigger bands have alot of people on their pay roll, stagehands, techs, managment etc, i doubt all the money goes to the band

How about AC/DC? Are they like 2+ millions?
I doubt that AC/DC would play for less than 2 million ... euros ... and yes, that is a serious guess.
Wow!
Why do they bother, after doing 3-4 or four concerts, then?
If they ever decide to do any festival gigs ever again (which is highly unlikely or they would have done it years ago) the price might be significantly lower as the expenses on playing a festival gig is neglible compared to setting up a stadium concert with all the roadies, gear, insurance and everything else they have to pay for every gig.

On a stadium concert in the 2M euro range, I'd be surprised if there was more than about 200K euros left for the band to share.

I read somewhere (in a music mag - forget which one) that it cost Metallica one million dollars per day to be on the road. Of course that includes having two complete stages, gear etc, which to a great extend isn't needed for a festival but still...

Yeah, that's probably pretty much the number I was estimating too. And with 3-4 gigs per week, maybe 5, each gig has to cost about 3 million dollars to book (which is about 2 million euro) just to keep the skin on the nose (remember they also have to pay taxes of the booking fee).

its about a guy who knows a booker, that say that they are still "speaking" with Faith No More and Janes addiction and a bigger rock band that will blow people backwards, he couldnt get the last bands name, but he thinks that theyre tour ends the 30rd of june.
This sound promising if its true.
The ONE "bigger" rock band that finishes their european tour the 30th of june and would blow our minds is obviously AC/DC, which makes this rumor a bit unbelievable with all the headliners we already have there won't be enough money for FNM AND this "bigger" rock band.
but, as we all know, hope dies last... i have not given up. not believing but hoping
I don´t really believe in the AC/DC possibility, although it would be cool, I´d still prefer Janes, FNM or Dave Matthews, in that order, more or less.
Anyway, about the financial aspect: danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet mentioned that RF has a music budget of 34 million kroner, divided by roughly 170, that gives 200.000 per act. Obviously some acts are a lot more expensive, but many are a lot less than that, I´d say. Anyone here have any knowledge into booking, that could share a light on what prices we are looking at here? Is Janes a band that would cost a million, 2 million or only 500.000? How about AC/DC? Are they like 2+ millions?
70 000 * 2000 dk (in average) = 1400000000 dkr (1.4 billion)
The budget must be a lot higher! If not, then WHAT THA FUCK

Let me guess ... you failed math, right?
70,000 times 2,000 is 140 million ... not 1.4 billion

Danish newspaper Politiken mentioned the amount of 37,5 million as the music budget for this years festival, but we are still in the same ballpark.

Sure. But only for Sunday and they are only sold on site. No presale.
I think they cost DKK 800,- this year ... it's usually a tiny bit lower than half the normal ticket price.

According to their homepage one- and two-day tickets are released closer to the festival.
