Festival donations to the needy and homeless

This week needy families and homeless people receive donations from Roskilde Festival.

We are busy sharing out of profits from this year's festival. Last week we had the help of our great audience to donate 107,000 euro for homeless newspapers in Scandinavia, and now we will send a total of approx. 215,000 euro in the direction of those living in poverty in Denmark - and especially to those who make a difference for others.

The Danish humanitarian organisation Mødrehjælpen receives approx. 67,000 euro for their Christmas collection. Moreover, our dedicated volunteers hand out Christmas presents at a value of approx. 67,000 euro to some of the country's more vulnerable families who can only enjoy a day in the amusement park Tivoli in Copenhagen.

We also support the charity organisation Gjaestebud with 62,400 euro so that their 200 volunteers can improve the lives of homeless people in Copenhagen.

Also, the charity organisation Dansk Folkehjælp receives 20,180 euro for their Christmas collection for needy families.

In 2012, we continue the struggle against poverty and inequality in the campaign we have named Statement. One of our goals is for Denmark to introduce an official poverty line.

The Roskilde Festival Charity Society distributes all its profits to humanitarian and cultural work for the benefit of people worldwide. Since the early 70s, it has been for more than 24,200,000 euro.
