fredag 17.02.12 Roskilde Festival built with 50,000 LEGO bricksMorten Øberg has spent half a year on building a part of Roskilde Festival, using 50,000 LEGO bricks. And the model is down to the last detail with toilets, audience pit systemet in front of Orange Stage (14,000 bricks are used on the stage alone), queues by the food stalls and not at least an audience made of 2000 LEGO people. On the Orange Stage the Danish rock band Volbeat is playing, and the LEGO stage setup is an exact reproduction of the real stage setup the band brought on their tour in 2011. Morten Øberg has built this work of art for the LEGO World event in Copenhagen. Here 50 LEGO fans exhibit their impressive creations. “I'm doing it because it’s cool,” he told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet (only in Danish) when asked about the piece. And it must be said that this LEGO fan has really created a true-to-life (sort of) model with the many thousands of bricks. Here at Roskilde Festival we are very excited about the project. We didn’t know anything about it, but it really says everything that the whole idea was thought up by a fan who just started building.
