BARONESS have with Red Album and Blue Record made a name for themselves as one of the most progressive front-runners of Southern metal, alongside like-minded Roskilde acts such as Mastodon and Kylesa. The band has announced new material on the way. CROWBAR incarnates, like few other bands, the murky sludge metal genre with its tuned-down riffs, lazy grooves and roaring vocals. The hefty chaps have retained their metal style since the early 90s, unaffected by any fads. RED FANG delivers a testosterone-driven update of Black Sabbath, Melvins and Kyuss. A party for everyone convinced that The Lord not only has a long beard but also a checkered shirt, a spiked belt and a can of beer in his hand. WEEDEATER are without a doubt good-natured Southern folks – the band's first album was called ... And Justice For Y'all with a howdy to Metallica's classic. The music, however, is a deadly mixture of fast riffs, whipped drums and growling vocals.
