Beer for garbage

Camp Hobro casts off their inhibition and collects 815 bags of garbage in just two hours.

Silas from the camp shows his biggest grin, when it is announced that he and his friends can get blind drunk from the small pallet of beer they have won in the competition about collecting garbage.

Silas is on crutches so he has not collected garbage, but has functioned as a co-ordinator for the camp’s collection. He tells us that you can actually see a difference after the clean-up.

Besides the many beers, the camp wins tents, a festival kit, food and drinking tickets plus three crates of bonus beers. In short, the winners are stuffed with all kinds of festival gear. And for Camp Hobro it only took two hours to bring home the victory.

You have to be extraordinary stingy with your garbage, if you are not tempted by the cool beers. Besides the refreshing liquid you get a lot in the competition, where you can win tickets to next year’s festival.

Anne Marie, who controls the competition, expects to beat the record of last year’s 27 tons of garbage. Friday, 2500 beers were distributed as payment for the same amount of bags with garbage.

And the collection is important, Anne Marie explains, because it gives more money to charity and less expenses for the clean-up after the festival.

You can drop off garbage bags at Agora C Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm and afterwards the camp, which has collected most garbage during the day, wins a free pass to the back stage area at Orange Stage.
