Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

When booking access to the camping areas E, J and P today, you need a ticket number and in return you get an email confirmation that can be used to get access to camping on June 26.

Does anyone know if it possible to pass on the email confirmation to a friend so he/she can enter the camping areas instead of you? Or will the email confirmation only give access together with the specific ticket that was used to book the camping?

I guess the ticket and the confirmation should be held togehter. Otherwise you could just forward one e-mail confirmations to 200 friends, and then everybody could claim a spot on the booked areas. And that doesn't make much sense.

So my guess is, that ticket and confirmation together is your way to the booked campingarea.

@Chefen: You're probably right. Would be nice if someone from the Festival could confirm this.

It says so one the page with info about booking. You need to bring the mail and the ticket. Both must be shown to gain access to the waiting areas for pre-booking.

Well, not exactly. It says:"The receipt and your festival wristband give you access to the camping area you have booked access to."

Any valid ticket will give you a festival wristband, so perhaps you don't necessarily need to bring the ticket you used for booking the camping.

There are more questions than answers to that booking system. One have to buy a ticket, so what about medarbejdere ? If you want to book together with others, why not open for entry of more than one ticket number, would help the system taht not everybody had to logon themselves. How many m2 may every booking occupy, can one booking bring more than one tent. Which means to reinforce "some kind of social behavior" are in place, gatecrashing are the usual sport so this will be fun to watch icon_rolleyes.gif

Volunteers ("medarbejdere"icon_wink.gif can enter the booking areas without booking – this is clarified in the FAQ. As for space and occupation, it is also answered in the FAQ that it is allowed to bring more than one tent with you.

I was forwarded from this topic: http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/forum/mm_forum_pi1/posts/camping/doesnt_we_get_the_wristbands_at_1800_the_26_juny/ (about when we get the wristbands) to this topic - so here goes:

According to the mobil festival guide we can get wristbands at 12:00 on saterday at the festival or friday at Tivoli.
That seems a bit late at the festival, only 6 hours to opning? Is this official or is it just some crap the people who made the festival guide wrote?
On the pratical site, it still says "more info later" about the writsbands?

It has only been possible to get a wristband before the festival since last year. Before that you stood in line and got your wristband when the festival opened, I took up to 10 hours. So this is not late at all.

They don't give out the wristbands before bacause it would be too easy to make copies then. Just be glad we are not back in pre 2009 festival history.

Im confused.

We usually send a few people to set up camp early. How will this work, with booking?
If the two people setting up camp makes a reservation, are they allow to set up camp for everyone? Like 5 tents.. According to the FAQ, they are. Won't that mess up the system? No way to know how many tents each booking includes.

How will the booking-areas and the inevitable breaking down of the fences be handled?

As far as I have read on the forum and website, they only reserve 60% of the area, so there should be room for campers setting tents up for friends.

I saw the 60% on this forum also, but I'd really like to see it from an official source - Got any? icon_smile.gif

O.K Maybe this is a stupid question. But what if you don't book an area? Are you allowed to get on the camping on the 26th? OR should you book anyway just to get through the gates on the 26th? I don't really get it...

Booking in E, J or P guarantees you a spot if you arrive before sunday the 27th at 8.00am. After that it's open for anyone to claim the free spaces.
If you don't book you will get into the camping at 18.00 on saturday the 26th, the same time as if you have booked.

So what happens if you exchange your ticket for a wristband in Tivoli Friday the 25th. Then you no longer have your ticket to show together with the email-confirmation?

You don't need the ticket. You need the wristband and the printed out booking confirmation e-mail.

Is it just me, or does all of this just sound incredibly complicated and non-Roskilde like?

It's not just you. Although I think it is a good idea in principle, it all seems a bit over-complicated or just not that well explained.

I pretty sure you need your ticket. I don't think they need to take the hole ticket in Tivoli, just the little slipper on the right side of the ticket.
Otherwise you could just copy your e-mail confirmation and hand it out to all of your friends.

Yes, I'm pretty sure I read this somewhere as well.

Oh, I'm wrong on so many levels but enough of my sexuality already :p

I'm sure I've read you only needed the wristband and the booking e-mail but the FAQ isn't clear on that at all. Let me check the confirmation e-mail, and see if it says anything there.

EDIT: I was right. This is the exact wording of the confirmation e-mail.

Du har nu booket adgang til et campingområde på Roskilde Festival

Det er vigtigt, at du printer denne mail og medbringer den på Roskilde Festival. Sammen med dit festivalarmbånd er denne mail nemlig dit adgangstegn til dit campingområde.

So wristband + booking e-mail print out is the access critiria.

Further down it even confirms this:

Betingelser

I realize this, but then what's the point of booking with respect to your ticket number?! Just to check that you have a ticket? I doubt that the booking page was advanced enough to check.

I think Liam and B have a point now...

The point of booking with the ticket number is that you can only book one camping spot on each ticket. However, how they'll check if it's not a copy I have no idea but that's what it says on the booking confirmation, so I guess that is the rule.

We all know that Roskilde never makes a less thoughtthrough rule, and never change their rules :p
