Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

This year we have installed a webcam in our music system. This webcam will stream live video to a website, that will become active when we set up on roskilde camping. The idea is that people at home can get a nice greeting from people actualy at the festival. Do you think this is a good idea or do you have suggestions for additions to this idea?

I would also like suggestions for a domain name ######.dk that we are going to stream to.

Please note that by doing so you are breaking several Danish laws

1. Lov om forbud mod overvågning mv. (The surveillance prohibitive act)

2. Persondataloven (The personal data privacy act)

3. Lov om tjenester i informationssamfundet (The information services act)

If you can read Danish, then read this as a first step to see if you're willing to take the risk:

http://www.legalriskmanagement.com/PUBLICATIONS/2002_WEBCAM.pdf

This is not to discourage you, just make you aware that you probably should seek legal counsel first as violating especially the personal data privacy act can carry rather severe penalties.

Could you elaborate as to how this would be in breach of E-handelsloven (3)? I can see how images could under some circumstances constitute personal information (under Persondataloven), but I'm curious to learn how E-handelsloven could apply.

So as not to stray completely off topic: I think this sounds like a really neat idea!

I have written the Roskilde Festivla administration. They have asked their legal department, and they have allowed for this to be done, under the following conditions: The video feed will not be located on the Festival area(Where the live music will be played) and we have to put up a sign informing people we are live streaming.

Other than than, I can only say, that Roskilde Festival is a private area, so they alone decited weather or not it is allowed to do live streaming. But thank you for your reply.

That's what the owner of John Bull Pub thought as well. That it was a private area and that posting signs stating that it would be streamed was enough to uphold Danish law. However, that did not prevent the owner from going to jail for 6 month for doing exactly what you're doing. Even if you get written confirmation from Roskilde Festival stating that they will bear the full responsibility, it will still not absolve your guilt should this go to trial.

What you are writing makes me sad. You know, one should get legal counsil on this then, but as this is a non-profit idea, with spare parts we had laying around, we don't want to spend money on it. Then we will probally just discart the idea. Thank you for your insight.

You can get free legal counsel at http://www.friproces.dk/

I'm not saying that you will break the law but since there's a rather severe penalty involved here, and not just a fine, you at least should get some help in determining your rights.

I know that it's sad to have to let a good idea go but in this case I don't think you have much choice but you should as said at least gets your rights checked out first.

I did, and I fail to see how it applies to the topic in question, particularly with regard to (a) this not being a corporation and (b) the fact that (as I understand it) no e-commerce is involved. What am I missing?

The part that you cannot circumvent the law by streaming from a site hosted in another country. It's just for completeness.

Just do it!

Something like it was done at Kariere bar in kødbyen when they started up, and had a hope of being fancy and arty.

Just make sure you only film in your own camp then I really don't see how this could go wrong!

And of cause make sure you don't make out with some girl, wile your pregnant non Tuborg-drinking non festival-going girlfriend is on the other end of the line.

don't let yourself be held back by stupid rules that no one will ever enforce.
