Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I've been to Roskilde 5 times now, but I'm thinking about using Get a Tent this year. Just so I can have less luggage and arrive at my leisure.

Has anyone used it? Would you recommend it?

And also, can you use the white pavilions in the Get a Tent area? I like to put a pavilion over my tent to keep it coool.

Thanks guys!

If you want a more relaxed Roskilde then this is the perfect spot, there is plenty of room and the grass is green the entire festival. icon_smile.gif
you can't however take your gazebos into this area so finding some shade can be a problem id you not want to sit under the tent at the agora.

I'm pretty sure they will accept this.

Maybe these are accepted but back in 2009 they asked people with regular 3x3 meters gazebos to put them down but i haven´t been been at GAT in the last 2 years so i don´t know if the rules have been changed.

Thanks for the replies and tips guys. Judging by the map, it doesn't seem too far... maybe 5/10 minute walk? 15...? Also, is it near to the shuttle bus stops? For travelling to and from Roskilde town & festival?

I've been here 5 years, but I've always gone West! B, C, D and E. So I'm unfamiliar with the eastern entrance / get a tent / bus stop area.

There is a tunnel under Køgevej, that leads directly to the Caravan and GAT area so maybe 20 minutes max. To the gate at Arena.

Cool man, thanks! I'm sure the East bus stops in a convenient place too. Kinda like West, but East, and on the opposite side.

i camped in gat for the first time last year due to bringing a non festivalized girlfriend... the distance to the main festival area is not that bad really. it's hard to put the the distance in minutes since it's roskilde and you always get distracted by something/someone, but it doesn't feel bad. also you can get to P pretty fast via gate 52 if you need to get your eat on.

... the gat area is nice and cozy. most people spend the days at the regular camping area or the festival area i think, but there are still people to meet and have fun with - we had a good time in front of our tent acclimatizing my girlfriend to the festival life and warming up before going to the real party.

According to Krak.dk then GAT is only 1200 meters away.

Also the backside of area P is 1200 meters away so actually GAT is not that far away.

Haha yes 15 minutes in regular mode and 1 hour in Roskilde mode.
My point was just to prove to those people that says that GAT and caravan camping is a daytrip away that they are wrong.

Btw the air photo seems to be taken during one of the early warmup days because there is alot of empty places in camping P and there only seems to be people around the pavilion (Jr) tent.

This will be my first time at Roskilde and I'm going to the GAT area. I am not familiar at all with the zone, and with the camp situation.
Is it possible to go to other camps to join its parties? I'm good in a "quiet" camp, but I want to have the chance of being at a good party some of the days.

Thanks!
