Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

If I buy Get A Tent, can i put my tent wherever I want to, or do I have to be at a special camp?

And as for entrance booking, wich entrance leads to the "best" camping areas? if get entrance booking, can i still change my mind and choose another entrance? icon_wink.gif

Looking Forward to Roskilde! icon_biggrin.gif

Get a Tent means you buy an already pitched tent in the special "Get a Tent" camping area which is to the east of the "regular" camping area. So basically you buy a tent and a designated camping space so you don't have to worry about that.

That depends on what you consider to be "best". If you want to camp as close as possible to the festival area, entrance 1 or 2 would be your best bet. Generally, the closer you get to the festival area, the wilder the parties get - for good and bad. Last year, my friends and I camped in the northern part of the P area, which we were very happy with because people partied just about hard enough, it was close to city centre east and not that far from the festival site.

Also, some areas are dustier, less flat etc. than others, and I find it best to avoid those. Area H and to a lesser extent some of G seems to be very dusty. And after having a walk around camping West my friends and I developed a bit of a cough.

Don't quote me on this, but the way I understand it, once you have made an entrance booking, you can not change your mind. I'd like to have this confirmed from an official source, though.

Actually that isn't correct. You can always change your choice of entrance, but you have to pay a ticket fee each time you change your entrance booking. The first one's free - and you don't have to book right away.

Great, thanks for clarifying.

Okay... Maybe Im just an idiot but I cant figure out how this works:
This new thing where you can do an entrance booking is confusing me.
Our camp has always been around Agora C and we've been lining up early to join the race since 2007 at the West Entrance. And ofcourse, we want the same spots 2011 icon_smile.gif

So this is my question:
If i buy a ticket, with no entrance booking, can I still join the race? Can i choose every entrances?

Just a little confused now in December, sorry!

Have you read our FAQ? -> http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/uk/practical/camping/entrance_booking/faq/

Hopefully it answers your question.

Yes, but only from Sunday at 8 AM. If you want to get in at the opening on Saturday at 6 PM you have to book an entrance.

Although no one will stop you from taking down this tent and pitching it at one of the regular camp sites.

True. But considering the price of Get A Tent (1070 DKK for a large one) the fact that you can buy tents much cheaper in the city senters as well as in Roskilde city, kind of defeats the point of doing that.
