  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I think it looks niceicon_smile.gif will you mount some wheels on it? it looks pretty heavy...
I wonder if the two holes are some kind of horn construction to get more bass?

Our camp just started building our "Boominator 2.0" for next years festivalicon_smile.gif

We got a wagon to carry it on, the wheels would destroy the sound, since we like the contact with the ground, we dont want rubber between the bass and ground.

Yes we force the energi from the bass through the V shape in the center of the speaker, this gives an amazing effect of bass when you stand infront of the speaker, it was a chance we took and it works.

The Middle Tone and Horns are placed in head height to get the full effect from them, there are no real need for high music when your sitting down... So this speaker is build mostly for partying, not chilling music in the camp... For that your Boominator would work great icon_wink.gif

3 man can carry it... think it weighs 140 kilo or so.... Its made in MDF 22mm icon_wink.gif

That sounds nice! I would like to see a drawing/the inside of your speakericon_smile.gif

This is a picture of some speakers we made! They also have this "horn thing" and it is incredible how much bass they have. We keep them at our gymnasie with a small digital amp and a pack of batteries wired in series. One day we even got complains from the neighbours to the school because our speakers played to loudicon_razz.gif

And this is a picture of our first boominator. Some guy accidently broke our amp before the festival so we survived with a slightly smaller one... Here we borrow one from some friends
And while this is just a boominator, our boominator 2.0 will not really look like a boominatoricon_smile.gif
We plan to place our existing boominator on top of the new one that will contain better bass and also more middle and treble units. That way we can have a large soundsystem to party at our camp, and we can still disconnect the smallest boominator and carry it around the campsiteicon_smile.gif And as last year, when we are on tour, we use our home made batterypacks that saves us from carrying the heavy car-batteries.
And finally as an extra bonus we plan to integrate an airport express so we can control the music wirelesslyicon_smile.gif

I cant find out how to make quote signs without them being replaced with this: " :/

Ah, when you said you'd build a Boominator 2.0 I was actually pretty impressed since I'm still working on the official version of that and haven't released anything yet.

Might I suggest that you first rebuild your existing one to the original specifications icon_biggrin.gif And then you can add a passive or active custom build sub for the Boominator (a project I'm also working on).

There is northing special about it.

There is a hole in the top of the bass box, and a cross wall to push up the air forwarding it to the Horn.

Described like that. I'm very sure doesn't work as well as it could if designed correctly. I'm actually surprised it works all.

I wasn't a part of the planning stages with our first boominator, and at that time I didn't know that there is a "real" boominator design. I still don't know much about your boominator design but as comes to power efficiency ours is very good tooicon_smile.gif Where can you find plans for the original boominator?
I'd like to see how our different bass projects turn out!

And concerning the name I will sugest to my friends to name it something else to avoid confusionicon_wink.gif

Just google "Boominator". It should 2nd or 3rd choice. (It used to be first on the list until the company that owns the trademark "Boominator" decided to pay google for putting theirs first.)

Or just get the link on facebook

@ Saturnus

How should it have been designed then ?

Right now it works as we hoped, but better i guess is always a goal.

OH, that's hard to say exactly without knowing your goals but if it's just to be loud then a standard horn scoop or W-bin design would work well depending on your drivers naturally.

Time to search the web and start reading icon_biggrin.gif

I like it.

What bas is it?

Although your bin design may not be the 100% best suited for that 18" i really like that you try an unconventional design

Hey drenge
