  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Student Camp need help: Booking place in the camping area such as P, not in "Get a place"

Hello Roskilde Festival forums, we are a camp consisting of 15-20 people (Depending on who decided to bail icon_razz.gif) who all graduate Gymnasium this year. We are going for the student wagon ride saturday, so we won't be able to come down and set up an appropriately big camp in time.

Last year as I ran towards P, I saw that the most northern squares in P were "saved" or otherwise inaccessible. Someone said that people had pre-booked them, but when I sent an email to Roskildes help/info email, they told me the only way of booking a place for a bigger camp, is at the "Get a place" area, which is extremely badly located for a big camp that wants to party.

So my question is, how would we go about booking an area for our camp, that we will come and set up the Sunday after the opening. Is it even possible for normal festival goers, or do you need to be specially invited or something? We are willing to pay up to 5000-6000 kroner for a 60m^2 - 100m^2 area, on the real camping site, but is it even possible?

Thank you all for viewing my thread, It would be great to get some clarification on this.

That area is booked for those who are part of the Dream City (read more here: http://roskilde-festival.dk/news/singlenews/put-your-camp-on-the-festivalmap/)

It has been possible to book an area the other years, and might be againg this year. But it ad far away as the Get A Tent area, and quite expensive.

So why not have someone you know, that is going to the festival, put up your tents for you?

Thank you both for the answers! Sorry my own answer is late, we had to do some discussion with the camp.

We are not very motivated to go use the get-a-place since it is very badly located. As one of you suggested we could simply ask someone else to pitch our camp for us, we have contacted a few people but they told us it would be too hard if they wanted a good spot in L themselves.

We are not specifically interested to be in the very crowded areas such as L, we just want to be in the east part, and not in the silent camping area. So G,H,P and N are all totally fine and great icon_smile.gif

We were thinking we would ask 3-4 people to go run for us and set up the camp for us, so we could arrive to a camp sunday, we would ofcourse pay these people to do this for us, like 1000 kroner each, to come and pick up our tents, pitch the camp and make sure it isnt trashed, until sunday morning-afternoon.

My question now is, do you think we could get ahold of some people here on the forums who would help us with that? it would be awesome icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the responses, it sure is a bit complicated in our situation, but I hope it will work out, we still have quite some time to figure it out.

Thanks in advance icon_smile.gif

Don't think you need to pay anyone. The bottom of P always has room for the ones that graduate. When I graduated two years ago, all the attending people from 3.g at my gymnasium could stay relatively close to each other, which was quite nice. The same thing happened last year.
The bottom of P is far away, yes, but you can still have a blast, and it's easier to celebrate each others graduation
