  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

So, now the poster is out, any ideas on who will close Orange this year?

My guess is that the closing band has not been announced yet.
The closing act is usually a big headliner and among the current acts there are only four bands, which can be considered that: Rihanna would be the obvious closing act, but she is playing in Poland on sunday, Slipknot is playing at thursday (and also not mainstream enough for a closing act), which would leave Kraftwerk an Qotsa, where I don't think Kraftwerk is mainstream enough for a cosing act, so Qotsa would be the only possible closing act.
But I'm not expecting them either, so something new like Muse, Killers or Bowie would be my guess.

I hope it's gonna be Paul McCartney, David Bowie or the Rolling Stones!

Kraftwerk closed Way Out West last year. My best guess is that they'll do that to Roskilde this year too. In which case I can pack up and leave early icon_smile.gif

Could be Rihanna. I'm hoping for one more legend headliner to close though.

Rihanna is playing in Poland sunday, so nope - she's out. Kraftwerk or Queens Of The Stone Age seems much more likely

I can't help but thinking there's something about this Muse-thing. I find it a bit odd that the have had a Danish show scheduled, not announcing it with the others, and then writing a post on facebook at the beginning of the year, saying "don't you worry, Denmark, we haven't forgotten about you!". A stadiumact like this with such a big management, doesn't write stuff like this and then just leaves it there, because of a negotiations-conflict or something like that.
Not to forget, they were the most wished-for-band in 2011, just a year after their last concert.
Would be a perfect closing act, giving the audience the "larger than life-orange feeling-experience"

I find the whole Muse case quite curious too. The thing that does make me sceptical is the fact that they announced their intention of playing Denmark quite a while ago. So you'd think by now they would have settled negotiations with Roskilde by now, if Roskilde is in fact the Danish booker. The only explanation I can think of, is that Roskilde didn't want Muse to "drown" in the other names announced in the poster. In that case I think Muse should be announced within a week or two.

Looking at their tour schedule makes me more sceptical though. Saturday is out of the question as they are playing in Rome. They do have Thursday and Friday free, but with gigs in Turin prior to the Rome gig, it's unlikely they'll leave Italy between the two. That leaves them to travel Rome -> Roskilde from Saturday to Sunday. Now that may be possible. Especially if they are the closing act. And considering Roskilde is a festival, they won't need to bring their whole stadium stage setup.

... With that said, I thought Rihanna was the obvious choice for a closer. Considering that's not gonna happen, I could see them putting Kraftwerk up, considering it is quite a special gig and with the mess all those 3D glasses are gonna make, clean up might be easier if they're the last act to play.

I can't see Kraftwerk's show work if it isn't absolutely dark. A 3D-show while the sun is setting will fall to the ground. So my guess is, that the closing act hasn't been announced yet.

My bet is that Kraftwerk will get a 01:00 slot on one of the first 3 days.

With My Bloody Valentine out of the picture I believe in the Muse-rumor a bit more. Would be phenomenal to have the audience-favorite playing the only festivalgig on their tour as the closer on Orange Stage.
Maybe The Who even? Closing with their Quadrophenia-tour as the only fetivalgig too. I'm starting to think they have something really big up their sleeves

D'oh! Did not even think about that. Well they're out of the picture then.

So assuming it's a headliner, that leaves us with The National, QotSA, Sigur Rós, Slipknot, Volbeat.

I don't think The National or Sigur Rós can pull off a closing concert. Slipknot doesn't really feel like the right fit to me either. Perhaps let Volbeat close, now that there's actually a Danish band of considerable size? Otherwise it's QotSA, a subliner or a yet to be announced act.

If you look at the schedule thread Volbeat, Slipknot, Sigur Ros and The National are all out for the closing slot. The National has removed the saturday date from their website again so maybe...

The National are in my opinion not big enough to close the festival.

I still think they are performing Saturday but that they revealed it to early an removed it again.

They seem to have solved that problem by starting the Orange closing show at 23.00.

Seems very late for a closing act, and leaves another spot open on Orange, where we don't have enough bands for this stage to begin with. It seems like 2013 will be the year that a lot of smaller acts will play a stage way too big for them.

It was announced that Ingrid and turbonegro will play Orange and still I think that Crystal castles could be an electronic Orange stage midnight act, which would mean 11 orange stage acts, if we added to Bongo Anders list, so only 3 or 4 names would remain, which can be among the last 15 acts to be announced (in 2011 there were 4 Orange stage bands added after the posterrelease).

But I think last year was very succesful with regards to subliners at Orange stage with especially Gossip, Malk De Kojn, Magtens corridorer filling the stage well. I think this year can match those subliners at Orange.

It's one hour later than normal. I highly doubt that gives room for one more show at Orange.

I'm pretty sure we will se Airbourne at Orange.
