Don't know if that makes it official or not, but they didn't list it as a rumor.

I think the source is still Rihanna's own Facebook page. Not official, but it would be weird if it's not true.

So I see!
Well, I guess I'll list her as a must-see. The music isn't exactly something I love, but this is a show I won't miss.

Whats to miss?
I will happily be sitting in a camp drinking beers instead, unless some great act is playing on another stage ofc.

I can see one good thing, it will bring all the girls to the festival.
Already last year the ratio was 55/45 in the girls favour so probalbly 60/40 this year.

Ita not bad at all.
But I don't think it will affect the ratio at all, it was just a fun fact.
But most of the 5,000 one day tickets sold that day will however be by girls I am sure of.

I think it is an interesting booking, don“t think I will see her, but she is the few in the very top of the pop.. And it is interesting booking a pop artist that is still that and not one that peeked 20 years ago.

I probably won't go to her show but it's funny seeing people boycotting the festival on the Facebook page. It's as if they completely forget the artists announced before this.

Well, if you count popularity in 'likes', Rihanna is more popular as a Roskilde announcement as QOTSA and Slipknot COMBINED:
Rihanna +3500 likes and counting
QOTSA 1700 likes
Slipknot 1700 likes
Last year:
Jack White 600 likes
The Cure 1400 likes
Can't find the FB update announcing Bruce atm.

I have read most of the comments on the announcement-post on Facebook, and it really is the most childish I have seen on their facebook-page ever (which says a lot). With a hardrock and two metal headliners announced so far besides Rihanna many people threaten to boycot RF because of the booking and the festival is becomming a pop-festival.... what a change a booking makes.
She also have far more likes already than any bands ever on Facebook and seems like an obvoius booking for the closing concert at orange (when Prince can, so can Rihanna.
But with that said I like the other three headliners much more, and I'm not sure, that I will see Rihanna.

An interisting and somewhat surprising booking. I think it's the first time Roskilde has booked a major pop act that didn't fall into another of Roskilde's usual categories for bookings. For example, P. Diddy started as a gangster rapper, sort of, and developed into an R'n'B star, Prince is and was a legendary pop act, likewise with Pet shop Boys and Duran Duran, M.I.A. could be seen as a world music/pop act, and so on.
Whether I will see it myself vastly depends on what else is playing at the time but it's likely a closing act Sunday so there won't be anything else playing.

I get really sad when I see all the comments on facebook and elsewhere. What kind of Roskilde goer judges the whole festival based on only one name? These people are so negative and I do hope they stay home. For me Roskilde has never lacked for great music and other great stuff to do. What's the point of bitching about one single concert when you can do so much else at Roskilde. Those ignorant assholes are probably one of the worst things about Roskilde. If you care about the festival you should know it's not only about one act. It pisses me of.
I think Rihanna is a great booking. Maybe just because I was really surprised by it. I do think of her as superficial and commercial pop and that's really not my thing. But she does keep on making hit after hit after hit and she been doing it for some years now. If nothing else super interesting is on when she plays I'm gonna have a great party and feast on a couple of guilty pleasures.

Very well written!
I'm getting scared of the human race when I read many of the comments on the facebook page. Let's really hope these people don't show up. For one thing they don't know the Roskilde festival history.
Rihanna - a great booking imo. I'm all for diversity and she has some great songs, commercial but so what.

The facebook comments are usually embarresing stupid, but today is the worst I have seen yet. It's easy to comment on Facebook and young stupid punks are the most active on their forum. Fortunately you can get knowledgeble comments on things on this forum.
The only negative thing I can say about Rihanna (besides that I probably will not see her) is that I expect her to be very expensive, but so was Bruce and Prince, which wasn't y taste either, and I most admit that it was probably time for something to balance the headliners.

I love these types of comments:
"I was really considering going to Roskilde this year, but after Rihanna has been announced I'm seriously doubting I will."

They probably still want to see QotSA and Slipknot and what not, but now that they're sharing the poster with Rihanna they really can't be bothered. And it's completely irrelevant who the next ~180 artists are.

The same goes for Gaffa's forum. I haven't really decided whether I'm psyched or a little annoyed that they used - assumably - a great amount of money on her .. But I think she will deliver a huge SHOW!

I would have prefered the announcements of Northside festival (Alt-J, The Knife, Kaizers Orchestra) but I have to say that I've seen her twice and it's a nice show. Not very deep, but really enjoyable.

Pretty sure I've seen it before. Some Calypso act perhaps?
